Very interesting. We had always heard about these ideas from a distance, so it was helpful to get your clarifying explanation. By the way, George Takei is very assertive about correcting folks who pronounce his last name as “Tah-Kai”. He says the Japanese pronunciation is “Tah-Kay.” One of your readers pronounced it correctly but you had the pronunciation GT objects to. Don’t mean to be annoying, but thought it was worth mentioning.
