So, our retrospective journey into the Kelvinverse brings us inevitably  to Star Trek Into Darkness, easily the most divisive of all the Kelvin  films, and perhaps of all of Trek films in general. But what’s strange  about that is what everyone is divisive about. Because, you see, pretty  much everyone universally agrees that Into Darkness is in fact the  weakest of the Kevlin films, the real sticking point for most people is  around… how bad is it really?

Star Trek Into Darkness Is (Almost) Great | RETROSPECTIVE

This wasn't first time that they used "The Wrath of Khan." "Nemesis" has several similar sequences that reminds me of said film.

I like the Kelvin universe and I love the actors (which is saying a lot because I was a hard sell on a new Spock, having loved Spock from age 7 when I didn't seem to realize that TOS was eons old by the time I first watched it). But Into Darkness failed me with the disappointing reconstruction of Kahn and I didn't feel that this Kirk and this Spock had a deep enough bond yet to generate the iconic kneeling roar-yell, which Lower Decks has made such good use of, and I did feel cheated by the twisty remake of the original move. The 2nd and 3rd time I watched Into Darkness I enjoyed it more, but I still have the same complaints. Thank you for the retrospective. I always enjoy it when elements are pointed out to me that provide me with an excuse to re-watch more Star Trek. :)

“He’s clearly Kahn, man!” 😂😂

Good work.

I can see why a lot of people didn’t like into darkness, but I did like a lot of the elements. revealing section 31 in the movie was a nice touch, as was Benedict Cumberbatch kicking Klingon ass. Just a tiny bit of editing and a little more exposition might have really helped that movie. As a lifelong fan of wrath of Khan I do have to agree that movie should never be remade, ever. It’s as untouchable as the sun.
