What was the issue with the GH5?

miniac

I have a LUT I use for accurate color called the Leeming LUT. Whenever I applied it to the image, very often it would desaturate the image. My video production schedule is often very fast turn around times, meaning I can't really diagnose problems that might take a while to figure out without being late on a other video so I just let the problem exist. I finally took some time to experiment and I discovered that if I overexpose my image a certain amount, the colors pop once I put the LUT on. Now, I check my exposure with spot metering on an 18% greycard and then I always know my colors will look good!

Ohh interesting! I'm having a similar issue firing vlog into buttery lut but I think it might be the cheap capture I'm using. I get a weird magenta shift in a certain band of exposure. Enjoying the AOIAF VODs a lot, tempted to pickup a box of Baratheons... someone (Curtis?) mentioned a roving camera in the last one. Install the NDI HX Camera app on a phone, add it as a source in OBS and you can do drunken swooping wireless death star runs with your phone between units. Good luck with the new space, excited to see it.
