I painted a decent amount in the last week or so.

As you all know, I painted Qulathis the Exile from the Cursed City box and made a video about it. I was really happy with the outcome of this paint job. I felt I was able to leverage green on virtually every part of the model in a variety of ways and still have the model read as a whole. I experimented a lot on this model with the Malefic Flesh paint set from Vallejo, and with various Instant Colors from scale75.

I started to paint Glaurio ven Alten III, another Cursed City character on my most recent livestream and am looking forward to finishing him up! I experimented with Pro-Acryl paints from Monument Hobbies and recently purchased some more Vallejo Metal Color with the intention of painting his armor all gold inspired by my recent viewing of Excalibur, the 80s surreal rendition of the King Arthur story. In that movie, Mordred wears a suit of gold armor and it looks very fabulous which I figure would work with a character named GLAURIO VEN ALTEN III. Even his name drips.

My friends and I have been having regular hobby nights slowly chipping away at our kill teams. I feel like we need maybe 2-3 more sessions and these will all be done and ready to play some games. That means I need to kick it into  high gear and make some kill team boards and paint up the terrain we assembled as a group!

It's been a bit of time since I've talked about the wood elf kickstarter and there's been some progress!

Based on my caster's feedback, my sculptor went and fixed some problems and cut all the parts accordingly. The one thing I see we still need to address is the head on the warrior. We need to figure out a way to separate that from the body. Otherwise, everything is progressing nicely.

Each wood elf is going to have a box art painted for it and the process will also be filmed for an educational course similar to the one I did for the Duchess. You can see my course web page here: https://necropolis.miniac.co/ . My hope is to expand on this course catalog with all types of different painters. I could paint all 3 wood elves, but I think there'd be more value to my courses if I had different perspectives from other painters. As such, Benjamin Kantor will be painting the Witch wood elf. If you don't know Ben, he took 3rd in Best in Show at Crystal Brush the first year he attended the con. He's an awesome painter and his process is so unique and thought out that I knew he'd make a great teacher for one of the courses. You can get an idea for his process by reading some of the articles on his website: http://www.metal-af.com/

I gave Ben an early copy of the .stl of the Witch and he printed it on his consumer 3D printer and is giving the model a test ride, essentially. Typically when making content like this, it's nice to paint the model and then write the script for the course. Because Ben lives in California and doesn't want to be at my house for 2 weeks straight, he's going to figure out the bulk of the work on the model first, write the script, I'll review it, and then we'll be much closer to finishing when he arrives to paint it for real at the end of May. If you're curious who the other painters are, I'm having Jon paint the Warrior, and I'll paint the Ranger.

That's all for now! Have a great weekend and don't forget to PAINT MORE MINIS!
