Behind the Scenes #6 (Patreon)

I've had a pretty relaxed last week. I had a friend over on the weekend and we played a lot of video games (far too much). The video I prereleased last Friday cannot go live this Friday due to a timing restriction from the sponsor, so that will go public next Friday, August 31st. That means that the video coming out this Friday (tomorrow) will skip the early release process. 

The video coming out tomorrow will announce the winners to the Miniac Meat Grinder! The actual content of the video however is a list of tips from Bejammin Kantor (3rd place best in show at Crystal Brush in 2018) on how anyone can win a painting award despite your skill level. The list is super funny and helpful. It was a lot of fun to shoot! Speaking of...

Please excuse my excuse for a smile. I tried a slightly different lighting setup this time. I did 2 background lights, one with an orange gel and another with a red gel. I also don't have a fill light on this setup. I have my main key light (intellytech lc-160) being shot through a 5-in-1 reflector for additional diffusion. I have the key light almost right above the camera, but slightly off to the left of my face. I then also have a hair light for a little background separation. I think I like this setup. Compared to my NMM video, it's not so dark and moody.
