Funding Goals Temporarily Changed (Patreon)

Hey guys. First I really wanted to say thank you for supporting the channel throughout all these years for some of you. You guys have always been in my mind whenever I've made a video and your support has kept me going multiple times, each time there was a downer or the channel wasn't doing so well. You are all amazing and I really mean it when I say that it is people like you who have been carrying the channel for such a long time.

Now, that being said, I think that we don't need to talk about the current situation around the world, we all know it, and we can all imagine that there is a possibility that in a world in which strong authoritarian countries think they can take what they want from their smaller democratic neighbors, Taiwan could very be next on the list, which is really , literally preventing me from sleeping, as I happen to have lived in Taiwan for seven years. My wife is Taiwanese, my kids are (half) Taiwanese, I have a career here, I own my own house with my wife, and unlike our friends in Ukraine, we am lucky enough to have , I hope, enough time to plan for the worse, as we can now see that in today's world, the worse CAN happen, and in this case, we are talking about a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, something the Chinese have been planning and talking about for decades now, and even more so under current communist leader Xi Jingpin. 

I am very grateful for all of your support you have given over the past years. Thanks to your donations, I have been able to improve the quality of the content in multiple ways - HD camera, new microphone, the current headset, the Elogato greenscreen, the current PC I am using to play, record footage and make videos, compensations for the channel's art director, a lot of games for the 2nd channel ... You have been amazing! Not to mention the sponsored giveaways, too! 

However, under the current circumstances, I have decided to temporarily suspend all funding goals for on Patreon, meaning thar current donations will no longer go towards these planned goals.   I have instead decided to place as much of your donations as possible into an emergency fund that my wife and I are creating, in case war breaks out here in Taiwan as well.  Exclusive giveaways will still happen as I still want to thank you for your support, but they may not be as grand as they have been lately. 

Taiwan being an island, we can't just drive to put the children in safety out of the country. We would have to take a plane, or a boat, or a boat then a plane, anyway you can understand that it will not be easy and therefore, costly, and our only way out would be France, where my parents live. Of course, there, I would not have a job and taking care of my family without any resources would be very hard, not to mention that this is a burden that my retired parents would not be able to take.  We therefore need to plan and save now, and this is what we will be doing from now on.

Thank you again for everything you have done for me. I hope I will never have to use this fund. Time will tell. I'd better be ready than sorry though.
