The Dramatic Gay History of Beni and Kamado (Patreon)

Many years ago, when Beni arrived in town, he was a lonely Ninja looking for a purpose in life. He fell in love with one of the town's boys - Kamado. But their love had to be kept a secret, since back in the days gay love was not as accepted at all. But he couldn't imagine living anywhere else without his first love. So he stayed. One day, when Kamado's father caught the two of them having sex, he went furious and tried to beat the shit out of his son and his lover. But Kamado's Rufflet stepped between them and protected his friend: He unleashed an unknown power, and with a huge explosion the whole house caught fire. Kamado and Beni took the chance and ran off. Days later, they learned, that not only Kamado's family house burned down, but that the whole village caught fire and burned to the ground, because a whole bunch of dangerous fire Pokémon got drawn to the village by the flames of his burning home.
After a long journey, the two lovers arrived in Jubilife Village where they started a new life:
Beni opened a small restaurant, the Wallflower, while his lover Kamado became the Leader of the Galaxy Expedition Team. Beni's often referenced as Kamado's right hand, which is an old way to say, two men of the town are more than just friends. Even though the people in Jubilife Village are way more open and accepting, the two lovers never came out to anyone else officially, because the nightmarish memory of what happened in their hometown still haunts them to this day...

This is the dramatic gay history of this iconic gay couple and my head canon for Beni and Kamado.
