Inspiring Build of the Month:

Welcome to the May Newsletter! Thanks so much for your support! I like to feature inspiring builds that are far outside my comfort zone for building myself so I can too get some inspiration.  The following pictures are a Spring Temple by RendermanL on the Builders' Refuge server.

This spring inspired build has a central temple part with flower like 'petals' radiating from the top and sides.  The base is a clever mix of water and stones at different levels to make it look very natural.  The trees are particularly inspiring - I hope to do some like these for an upgrades video soon. Let's have a close look:

The branches are all over jungle bark and the leaves a mixture of jungle and spruce leaves with pink and red flowers.  Very cool and very clever.  There are also some very organic looking leaves or shoots wrapping around the structure.  This organic style is something I would like to try more of myself.

This next build is by PlasmaticStatic:

This is again not something I have ever done - a futuristic robot moving city!!! Plasmatic took a couple of months to build this and has done an amazing job.  The main robot looks like an insect and the ancillary robotic vehicles are superb.  I asked him for any tips for people looking to build in this style and this is what he said:

"I tend to over detail, but when building small scale like this microblocks like slabs, walls and trapdoors make builds look much more interesting"

The iron trapdoors make it look industrial for sure. Who wants to try this style?

What I have been up to in real life:

Apart from making as many videos as I can and streaming as often as possible both on youtube and http://twitch.tv/andyisyoda I have been very busy with two real life survival courses to teach and a day with clients and our chief instructor (John 'Lofty' Wiseman) who is now 79 and a former SAS legend who set up his own survival school after leaving the army.  He gave a talk for the day and I helped out in our makeshift shop selling survival and bushcraft equipment. Here are some pictures from the courses:

Getting out into woodland really keeps me sane - I love making videos but getting away from my computer is awesome for a few days.

I have also been sent some amazing gifts from people via my survival companies PO box. If you would like to send me some art or anything nice then the address is Trueways Survival, PO BOX 605, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, S63 3GX and once they get it I can pick it up. This address will only work until June.

Big thanks to Waredog for a sweatshirt, mints and hat from Weed, California!

and huge thanks to dark sabre for the 2lbs of swedish fish and very cool t-shirt! How true it is!

What is coming up on my channel:

This month there will be an upgrade video every Friday and a Kingdoms episode every Sunday.  I hope to add some tutorials to this schedule too!

Some pictures from my server:

A huge hospital well on the way by sirusmaj and waredog_

A wonderful skyscraper complex by LeonMc76!

Thanks again for your support - together we are inspiring many, many thousands of people every day.  It is your help that is making that possible.  Every view that one of my videos gets is possible due to your help.  And every view can change people's lives (well at least their minecraft lives!)

May the Blocks be With You!

love from Andy XX
