Hello hello,

to make it short, I was stupid to think I could make 2 mods a month including the behavior + the animation part, with mods that requires as much work as DMCO (50 animations for a complete moveset. Which I'm currently making because I lack braincells it seems).

I have finished the left and right sidestep, the back sidestep is meh and I spent 3 days on the forward sidestep and I'm finally happy with the design. I need to polish it and then move on to the other directions. Then the attack, and then making it a double tap dodge with the tap for sidestep, double tap for roll as DMCO was intended to be played. Then I'll add the attack animations and the dodge will be completed

Regarding Patreon, ngl, I just remove straight up the restriction of producing mods that I imponed to myself. Strangely, this is the reason why I'm animating again since it seem to have transformed a chore into a normal hobby again. The world is strange. If you haven't noticed you have access to all my previous hidden mods in the "What to expect with me" article

For the backend stuff, I'm now taking care again of the new animators that I abandonned to focus on Patreon, the new SkySA rig is out and the workflow is now super optimized. I just didn't do it before because it doesn't bring money but you know what, I guess I'm comfortable enough to go back to focusing on improving Skyrim instead of my bank account.

I'll probably make more YT videos too, follow me if you want to see the progress made on the frontend but also the backend too now.  I'll probably showcase the sidestep animations as they are in a vid tomorrow, or soon at least

Yeah I was worried you'd overpromise and overwork yourself. Take care

Alex

Glad to hear that the Patreon is making things easier on you. I'm not worried if mods take longer than expected to come out, quality matters. I like your mods so I will stay a patron. Keep up the good work! :)

new backer, who DMCO? Good call on the rate of delivery btw ;-)

Anonymous

take your time man your dodge mod has improved my game by an incredible extend

Distar

I actually overpromised and overwork lol. It's very weird because I took some kind of stressful break, and now that I just ditched the restriction I work even more, but it's not tiring at all lol. Thanks and have fun ^^

Distar

Thanks for the support, yeah I literally started this damn front dodge 4 times already lmao. I'll prolly make a vid tomorrow with it, if I finish

Distar

yo, DMCO is the dodge WIP mod I'm making. You can find it in the dodge WIP post or however it's called

I might be on a lower tier but I'm not here for a monthly drop I'm here because I'm super stoked for the fruits of your labour. I can't speak for anyone else of course but to me at least I think quality and a healthy work balance are the two most important things. True Directional Movement + TUDM 2.0 + SkySa 2.0 is going to be something else, I can feel it.

Distar

Hey thanks, it's fine tho, lower tier patrons are worth as much as other patrons. The name is called this way only because I can't really make a difference but I treat my 10€ patrons as my 1€ patrons. I might add some credits and al to be honest TUDM 2.0 is DMCO, you can find it in the dodge wip article ^^

Your mods are elite tier! Don’t worry about a timetable, they definitely worth the wait. Patreon is a great platform for interactions between modders and users. I look at some of the comments and attitudes on the nexus and just cringe.

Even from a purely practical perspective, as you note, you'll get more done when you're happy to do it than when you're forcing yourself, so it's good to hear you're having fun. Aside from DMCO and animations, I've been wondering if you had set up a tool to add motion data to attack animations? I really love Mofu's animations, but Skysa is just too hard to give up.

Distar

Hey thanks, we're making a community Discord with Bot, Mern and MIke to facilitate the said interaction. Especially since we actually have a lot of overlap :D

Distar

Yo, the conversion tool for SkySA is available here but it needs some extra work to convert. I had done that already but lost my files, and even if I could I just wouldn't have the right to upload it ^^

don't forget , the reason u have patreons , is because we support u , u don't realy own us a thing , we appreciate your work , and we support u on patreon for that ,i don't think that the majority is here to buy a product but to thank u for what u already did , and if there are more mods , good for us , if not , it's also ok u did a lot alrady , don't feel like u need to provide at a specific day of every month, moding is a passion right ? don't make it become a pain by forcing yourself to provide something at the risk of beeing disgusted of what u use to love and like . keep it up

Rico

Oooh so you made dmco's step dodge animation in the skysa amr rig right ? Can't wait for the update, so i can make sekiro inspired step dodge too. Hillarious video btw, love the memes 🤣

Take your time ❤

Distar

thanks lol. Fyi y'all, I saw the anims in the Nemesis Discord and it's damn cool

Distar

Hey thanks, well I get paid lol so it's hard to pretend the patrons don't exist. Modding has kind of become a job, but funnily enough, it takes a ridiculous amount of time. More stuff to come, I'm actually making the community Discord server that will hopefully be up soon

Lukas Lindström

Please make it an option to bind sidestep and roll to separate keys in addition to double tap functions ❤

Distar

I very honestly don't think it will happen. The reason being, it relies on the skse plug-in given by Ersh and I don't know how to make skse plug-ins myself. Also in all honesty, I think double tap is the most flexible way to have both

Miyamoto said a rushed game is forever bad, but a delayed game is eventually good, and I believe that statement goes for mods as well. Take all the time you need to make the mod. We understand.

Distar

*pretends he didn't rush all his mods before* Yeah true. But well, modding is usually free, so I don't think I'd apply this advice if I was still on the Nexus ^^
