An Update For Patreon (And Me) (Patreon)

Hello everyone! 

After some long and hard thinking, I decided to take a step in a certain direction.

Starting tomorrow (July 30th), I am going to be pausing the next billing cycle for patrons for a month---

Why?


Well... To be honest I'm not quite happy with where I am right now skill wise. I've spent some minuscule moments throughout the year trying to learn more or hone skills I already have. And to be frank, I feel like I haven't been too generous in taking enough time to practice. This stems from mostly spending all of this time to work on large projects and so forth. I figured this would suffice, but while I've advanced (I feel, at least) at least some, it just wasn't enough I think.

So that being said, I want to take a month to devote time to practice without having to also dedicate the little bit of time I have to projects. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE getting to create the things I do. But I also want to make sure I'm giving myself opportunities to learn and grow (you want me to grow, right~?), hence why I'm wanting this time to do so.

On top of having a full time job and continuously working on large projects, this will be a perfect opportunity to improve.

So what does this mean?

Well like I said, the billing for active patrons will be paused for a month. I spent a lot of time researching the pausing process, and once the month period is over (aka, August 30th), billing will resume as normal.

So between the days of July 31st to August 30th, no one will/should be charged. However, I still plan on posting and sharing bits and pieces of things I learn or try, whether it be in the form of pictures or even short animations.

Basically... You can see this as being a free month, as you're not being charged and I still get to share the things I learn. Everyone wins! Just note that the normal projects and postings will more than likely not be present due to this just being for practice.

What happens during this time?

Well, asides from taking the time to further my studies in Blender and animation, I also want to dedicate more time to commissions and even animation commissions. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but I know there will be some days where I will be itching to do something a little bigger than just studying. More info on that may come later.

I also stated that I will be spending time studying, dedicating time to learning more ways to improve my workflow and overall improve my works. I'm doing this for myself, and all of you.

On an important note, I have seen where it may cause new patrons to not be able to join during this time. While it may seem obvious as to why, it does prevent my backlog from being shared, so do please keep this in mind.

Final notes...

I've had others give me their opinions for this kind of move, and while it's a pretty big jump, it's one that I think is necessary. I want to further myself with everything I know, and learn newer things, so that I can provide even more for you all. It's going to be exciting, and I'm stoked to show the things I learn and attempt, and I'm happy to have you all here with me. :)

So please know that between July 31st to August 30th, there should be no charges to anyone, since I'll be pulling the trigger on that tomorrow. (July 30th). I'll still remain here, on discord, twitter, etc if I am needed, so please do not hesitate to reach out (Patreon dms are busted so be advised).
