Nude Byte Extras: August 2023 (Patreon)

This month's NPC will be the duo: L'apre and Ramina

In Nude Byte, there's a theme for all NPCs: Each of them are bootleg of existing characters with a trait that's altered.

L'apre and Ramina are simple bootleg designs of Pearl and Marina from Splatoon.

L'apre is an egotistic lady who believes she's the queen of the world, while Ramina is a supporting and caring lady who likes to be on L'apre's side all the time.

But these two weren't exactly created for Nude Byte.

They originated back in 2019 when my fanarts of Splatoon got DMCA'd by a lawyer of Nintendo. (or fake lawyer of Nintendo, as proven by several artists) At the time, I decided to make bootleg designs to get away from copyright problems. L'apre and Ramina were born, they were just artworks back then.

In 2020, we added them to the game Hot Glue as newscasters.

In 2021, I added them here in Nude Byte as 2D NPC sprites.

However, I plan to remove them from the NPC line-ups to give them a bigger purpose.
But this repurpose might become a lot of work, so I can't announce it for now. If things go south with this plan, I'll turn them into 2D NPCs again.
