Update: Alright, the vote is in! A close run between two options, but the order for upcoming Battle Yak Miniatures releases will be as follows:

  • November - Sentinels of Primus II: The Marauder Cults
  • December - Satynath Wyldhunt
  • January - Ironskarn War-Horde (starting the new year out orky!)
  • February - Primal Heart Eldarch II: Evolution

Keep an eye out all this month for sculpting previews of the next release!

________

Hello everyone! The October release, the Draugyr Soulreavers, will be launching soon, and the chosen theme for the month of November is a return to the Sentinels of Primus, expanding the existing series with all new minis. Keep an eye out this month as the Sentinels of Primus: Marauder Cults set is developed!

At this time, I'm launching this poll to determine what future themes are going to be developed as we close out 2021 and move into next year! This poll will be determining the releases following the month of November so I can get a head start on thinking about what will be involved with each set and when. All three options on this poll will be made, and voting will determine their order of release!

Each option will have a short description and some concept art, included below.

Pick the option you want to see soonest! The winner will be the theme for the December Battle Pack, while second and third place will appear for the January and February releases! Feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions, and questions in the comments or on the Official Battle Yak Discord!

Poll Options

Ironskarn War-Horde

Theme Elements: Orcish Warriors, Brutal Weaponry, Heavy Armor Plate, Iron and Flame, Bound Fire Elementals

The clans of the Ironskarn War-Horde march into battle not only armed with savage weaponry and clad in thick metal plate, but with the power of elemental flame lashed to their brutal will. Mystically harnessed flames pour from blades, seethe from heavy armor, burst from rifles and hand-held cannons, and even take the form of vicious elemental beasts clad in binding metal armor.
Figures: Ironskarn War-Grunts, Forgebound Elemental Beasts, Forge-Mistress

Satynath Wyldhunt

Theme Elements: Dark Nature Satyr, Wicked Beast-Fey, Wood Elf/Beastmen Hybrid Elements, Beast Hunters (which is to say, Beasts that are Hunters), Black Goat Goddess Worship

Dark protectors of the wilds, the Saynrath Wyldhunt loathe all civilized races and ruthlessly dispatch any who stray into their territory. The sinister side of nature is made manifest in their cruelty of spirit, in the predatory slaughter of the weak and the helpless they carry out, and in the dark worship of their merciless goddess, the Black Goat.
Figures: Satynath Wyldhunter, Saytaur Preychaser, Shadow-Caller

Primal Heart Eldarch II: Evolution

Theme Elements: Elven Mutations, Insect-Reptile-Elven Hybrids, Living Armor and Weapons, Bio-Boosted Elves, New Weapons and Options for previous Primal Heart release, Ranged and Flying Units

The Primal Heart Eldarch used ancient life-shaping magic to transform themselves into the ultimate living weapons. Bonding their bodies with living carapaces and symbiotic weaponry, they have become a twisted fusion of all the creatures of the biological world. Driven to destroy anything that might threaten their dominance, they continue to refine and experiment upon themselves, generating ever more monstrous evolutions.
Figures: New Imago Sculpts, Phyllarc Hornets, Anthrothax Slivan, Magnigrove Heart-Singer

Battle Pack releases include at minimum 7 figures - 5 modular trooper characters (including a banner bearer), an elite character, and a special hero character. In past releases I've often added many bonus figures when time permitted! All sets also include a large selection of modular options, such as weapons, heads, and armor options, as well as a set of themed custom-sculpted bases!

The poll will run for the next few days. Drop by the Battle Yak Discord to talk about the results with the community. Happy Voting!

Why isn't there a fourth option that just says "YES"? Oh wait we're actually lucky enough that we'll get all three over the coming months.
