In the many adventures bolt has gone on with his trusted and highly esteemed owner, Penny, he has faced many enemies. Men, monsters disguised as men, science projects gone wrong created by Calico; the the green eyed man himself. Yet regardless, the small pooch was always too powerful for any of them to compare. The designs of Calico's enemies were toys to the mighty Bolt, but the longer they hunted him down to find Penny's father, the odder it got.

Penny suspected nothing, thinking that bolt was just immune to any kind of attack, or too fast to take damage. However, Bolt was much more keen to notice the oddities. He had faced the Green Eyed man and his henchmen long enough to realize just how many opportunities Calico really had to take him down. They wouldn't work... but they still existed as possibilities he never amused. Maybe the man was mad, or thought a mere dog wasn't requiring such thought to take out... but as plan, after plan, after plan failed sheerly because of Bolt, the pooch began to notice the oddities.

Calico wasn't trying to take him out... no... otherwise his henchmen would have used guns from the beginning. Instead, they use strange green claws and helmets with heat seeking vision. It's as though his own soldiers were... experiments. They all acted inhuman... as if they never were human. They all had coordination that wasn't human. Sure, they talked to each other, but when they were summoned for a mission, it's like they became entirely different creatures. It was freaky sometimes.

Eventually, Bolt and Penny found a secret warehouse of the green eyed man, and managed to forcibly rescue her father from his clutches. Penny was too relieved to ask why her own father put so much faith in a dog, or even ask WHY Bolt was so different from ordinary dogs... but Bolt was starting to wonder just how much he knew about his own maker. HOW did one mere scientist create him... why not use these powers on himself to resist Calico and protect his family? It made no sense.

Up until this point, Bolt always destroyed the green-eyed man's plans, and seemingly, Calico himself in the process before he'd magically reappear uninjured some weeks later with a new scheme. Penny couldn't understand what Bolt was saying, but he reasoned himself that there are MULTIPLE Calico's that he has taken down up to this point; all united by one conscious against him. For whatever reason, this conscious seemed to want to test him, never hurting Penny or killing her if she were caught, but using her and her father as motivation for him to act. Something... or someone was using Calico and his forces to test his power... but why?

He'd have to do some serious snooping. As Penny and her father fled the facility, Bolt did something risky. He unleashed his city-destroying superbark against the facility, burying it in dust, along with this calico and all within it. Satisfied that his nemesis' plans were stopped, Penny's father pet bolt and took his family to a new home. Again, Penny, merely being a young girl, didn't think to ask HOW her father could get such a house when he was being held captive and couldn't work. But Bolt was slowly catching on that things were not as they seemed.

When night arose, he snuck out from her side, and bolted for the facility he had blasted sky-high! In truth, he had misled Penny and her father. The superbark indeed would have reduced everything to dust and rubble, had Bolt actually aimed for the facility. Instead, he aimed for the area right in front of it, raising a dust cloud. This enabled him to sneak in and try to find answers for himself about this mysterious force empowering Calico to keep coming back. Many of the minions of the green eyed man had fled away, to start partaking in a new project. They knew Bolt's track record; nothing would be left standing! He was an absolute nightmare to their evil plans... and they never imagined he would sneak into again and start trying to uncover answers.

The nervous soldiers cleared out everything they could. With Calico buried in deep rubble, they assumed hm dead and were just trying to transfer weapons and materials before the government could find out. Bolt allowed them to do so. Since Penny wasn't around to hack the systems, Bolt had to sneak through entrances and exits as they walked through sliding doors. If he was seen, or superbarked, the entire facility would be alerted or destroyed before he could find answers.

While he couldn't see much of anything, his nose was picking up a strange scent as he snuck deeper into the facility, getting closer and closer to the source. Eventually, he came across a large camouflaged gate, that supplies was being moved through. Thinking fast, the clever pooch tucked away in a box, as minions walked by to do maintenance. Big mistake. The box was mostly filled with a strange kind of glowing green slime, that seemed to attach to him instantly! The canine shuddered, suppressing his revulsion as the minions deemed the cargo all clear and moved it through the hidden gate. As they moved, a strange sensation took Bolt over. It was unlike anything he had experienced up to this point, as the slime began to move, mold and morph around him! Before he could react, he was stuck, and surrounded by strange slugs that were already upon him!

They pressed against him with strange conviction, as a mysterious forced made the box levitate out of a hole in the roof! The plan had backfired; he had been caught by these strange things! In desperation, Bolt powered up his lightning powers, and released one of his strongest superbarks in an attempt to escape before they could take over his mind and body!

The force of Bolt's explosive bark had reached the explosives stored in the warehouse, electrifying their circuits and causing them to self detonate! Calico had set them as a self destruct sequence in case his plan failed... but Bolt's  power had changed the direction of the explosions to moving away from him! They struck the base itself, and caused a large ring of rubble to shoot out from the epicenter! Whatever minions were still there, were now with their master, as Bolt emerged from the rubble and looked around. He had tried to avoid this outcome in an attempt to get answers... but now nothing was left standing!

Disappointed, and confused at what the strange creatures were, he began making his way home, trying to think of a new way to get answers. Little did he know, that on his way, the alien slugs would come upon him like they had Calico, and give him more than he'd ask for in exchange for some of his power! The powerful hivemind of the aliens was in search of host capable of following its will, and now the green-eyed dog was another in its slimy clutches.
