I've long wanted to try and draw this handsome fellow in my style/concept, but never got around to it/lacked an idea on how to make it "fit" my style. But ended up realizing as I was working at him, that they had already made the beast quite believable/reasonable by incorporating shapes and features from various animals. I'd never really looked/analyzed closely, but as I worked at it, I could see various animal influences in the face, body shape, even the hunched shoulders. He truly is an "amalgam" of animals. a true "beast". And that made it all the more fun to work at! So I also of course added in a couple fun "alternates". And of course, tried to make a classic pose for him, tattered and weathered, perhaps having "missed his chance" and having really given into being the beast he now is >.>...
