Jumping Into January (Patreon)

Hey, hey, hey! It's 2024! Hello everyone! Time to dive head-first into the snow in search of mice... I mean, time for the first beginning of the month post of 2024!

This post is coming a little later than usual because I took the first week of January off to recharge my batteries a little. I didn't plan to take this break but I just kinda felt like I had to. Christmas, the New Year, seeing friends and family... as nice as it all is, it can get quite tiring after a bit, especially for an introvert. Combine that with the fact that I was working all the way through December too, and, yup! Both body and soul were aching for a bit of a break, so rather than resist it I decided to rest for a couple of days.

I'm glad I did because I'm feeling reinvigorated, rested, and ready to tackle a brand new year. I mentioned last month that I was feeling on the edge of a burnout and thanks to both this little New Year break and me taking a little time to enjoy the festivities I no longer feel the flame. Setting myself on fire? Avoided!

So, without further adieu... let's get into what's in store for January!

First of all, thank you to everyone for being patient and kind with my decision to pull back from publishing a game update last month! Because of this, I promised that I would be putting the vast majority of my focus into A Tiny Furry In A Huge World v1.3 this month...

... and that is a promise I will be keeping! This month will see a big update to the game that'll be adding a bunch of exciting new content to the brand new gym area... which means a bunch of content with track star cheetah Annabelle and her reluctant hyena coach Zoey! I plan on filling out the treadmill area this month. Don't just expect big paws content - even though there obviously will be big paws content, come on, it's a treadmill - I plan on putting a variety of scenes over there, both aware and unaware.

On top of that... Aimee Mode! I plan on getting the bones of this one down fully this month and making this not-so-little piece of side content pretty much fully playable from beginning to end. If you aren't familiar with Aimee Mode, then in it, you will get to play Aimee - full-sized Aimee - who is hunting around college for some micros. Yes, this is predator-focused content! Even if you're not into predator perspective stuff, though, then there will be plenty for you here regardless, I think! It's quite fun just to walk around and have ordinary conversations with characters I think.

There will also be a bonus scene for Ms. Matthews added since the bunny won the bonus poll back in November!

All of this coming up in the big ol' preview build that'll be launching on here at the end of the month! Look forward to it!

As promised, I will be spending most of my time this month on getting Tiny World v1.3 closer to completion. However, there's a loose end from last year and a couple of monthly writing commitments that I need to tend to as well.

As we all know... or at least, as I know... I have one more story to finish off from last year. I wanted to get it done in December, but, hey, that didn't happen! It was the shortest one of the lot, though, and it's mostly written already, so it won't take up too much time and I should be posting it up here in the next week or so. It's a super fun story about some lil dork getting stuck in someone's shoe when said someone goes for a hike!

Besides that, I also have two vignettes that I'll be working on this month. These will only be a couple of thousand words each, though, so again, it shouldn't take forever to do!

I will also be putting the finishing touches on the story archive and making a full-fledged post about it that, for the sake of easy access, will be pinned at the top of the Patreon for new and old members alike. I'll be putting the finishing touches on that today as a matter of fact so expect that post to appear either later in the evening or sometime tomorrow!

All in all, even if story writing isn't my main focus this month, I have some pretty exciting story-related stuff coming up, so, look forward to that!

Polls? Yes! There will be polls! Unlike last month, it won't be about a new character or anything particularly special... it'll just be the usual bonus scene poll! I think there will be two rounds this month: one for character, and one for scene type.

There will also be another development log since people seem to think those are neat! This month will go into detail on some of my plans for the big new game that'll be coming this year... or, at least, one of the big new games that'll be coming this year... so, yup! Pretty exciting stuff! Keep your eyes peeled...

So, good news: I've finally managed to get my prescription for my ADHD medication refilled! This is an enormous burden off my shoulders! Hooray!

If you've been following these posts then you'll know that this has been a bit of an issue for me over the past month or two... so it's nice that it's finally resolved. While I don't need my medication to be able to do my work and exist happily, it does help a lot with my focus and my mood, so... yep!

Everything else has been going pretty well, too. I had a nice Christmas and a good New Year and I am looking forward to 2024! I have a lot of exciting plans that I'm looking forward to bringing to fruition... my most ambitious projects yet... and I can't wait to show them all to everyone soon! My fifth year as a content creator is going to be my best yet... I can feel in my tiny little bones!

There's not much else to say on this front, to be honest - everything is positive right now, and when things are positive there's seldom much news - so, let's just say that I'm firing on all cylinders and very, very happy about that.
