So couples was a clear winner! It's always nice when there's a clear winner.

The follow up poll, then, is what kind of couple are they? My immediate thought was to offer two nice options and a toxic option but in the end I've decided to go for... three realistic options, I guess? None of them are specifically toxic but none of them are trouble free either. You'll see what I mean because I'm gonna give you a rough description of them in...

Background

The dungeon master is a talented, smart, and strong woman. The definition of independent. For a long time, she ran her Dungeon Hall come caravan all by herself - travelling around the world and bringing entertainment to all - but as she grew older, she wanted to spread her knowledge and her trade to someone else. Someone younger, someone who could fill her boots when she was old and grey.

She didn't expect to fall in love with the man that she ended up recruiting - she'd certainly never fell in love with someone before, especially with how much travelling she did - but, as she taught him things and as the months and years went by, they became closer and closer. How close did they get, though? Well...

Overprotective Wife

They got married! As a matter of fact, they got wed only a few months into the whole apprenticeship deal. It was a bit of a whirlwind - but both of them think that life is too short to hold off on a chance of potential happiness.

The older female dungeon master is protective of her young protege come husband. Perhaps a little too protective. Don't get me wrong, she's not going to be the type to stop anyone from talking to him or even getting close to him - but she likes to keep a close eye on him and she's visibly uncomfortable when he's out of her sight. Not incredibly toxic like she'll demand to know where he's been if he disappears but it'll definitely make her a little anxious. Sometimes more than a little...

This is for something of a good reason, though - the young male is a sickly thing who, while being handsome, isn't exactly the strongest thing in the world due to a family illness. To a certain extent, then, he's understanding of his other half being concerned for him - but at the same time, his symptoms have been getting a lot better recently, and he wants to start taking care of his wife as much as she takes care of him.

In short - overprotective wife is concerned about her sickly husband doing more for himself due to his illness getting better. 

Talented Boyfriend

They didn't get married! Even though the dungeon master isn't getting any older, she's got her reservations about getting married... even if her boyfriend has tried to propose to her a couple of times.

Her reservations? Well... they're a little self-centered. So she doesn't talk about them very much. Or... ever. But that doesn't mean that I can't! You see, her boyfriend is talented. Extremely talented. Arguably definitely more talented than she is. He's physically as fit as an ox, and, in terms of intellect, he's as sharp as a knife. Charismatically he's a charmer, and, in the bedroom... wow. And on top of all that, he's taken to her craft like a duck to water.

This isn't something that the guy holds over his girlfriend's head, but... she can't help but feel inadequate in the face of him sometimes. After all, she's the older one, isn't she? She should be better, she should be teaching him, and yet...

In short - a mostly happy couple with a big and unspoken inadequacy issue.

Free-Spirited Bang Buddies

They didn't get married and they aren't in a relationship because both of them are too cool for that even if it's pretty obvious that they have feelings for each other. They're both free spirits and they're afraid of the idea of commitment, so...

They're close, though! Very close. Even when they fuck around, they tend to fuck together. Sharing is caring, right? And, beyond that, they also show a deep level of care about one another. They're boyfriend and girlfriend in every sense of the world... but they don't think about that - or themselves - too much.

This is a pretty simple option to explain, but, that doesn't mean that I'm not enthused about it or it won't be fun! The two of them raising a middle finger to the world while doing whatever the hell they want - and doing whoever the hell they want - is a pretty cool vibe, especially for a couple of travelers.

In short - two free-spirited nomads who roam the roads, bringing their fantastic micro dungeons to all.
