Surprisingly the first week of March was super busy for Kinky, read on to see why! You won’t be

Pieces of my Heart
This week was spent testing a few new variations to the tried and true Pieces of my Heart mechanics. Our goal is twofold, first, we want to add more unique content and rewards to the game, and we want players to spend more time with the girls, get to know them better. To accomplish this we are prototyping a conversation tree as a reward for the first puzzle on every date. Now instead of a single line of dialogue, the player will be able to have a conversation with the girl and question her a bit on her likes and personality.

More testing is needed, and once approved we will go into scriptwriting, then eventually vocal recordings. Lots to do! After all that we are finally done with the puppet asset work for the next date, but she will likely be delayed to be released with the new mechanic as well.

Sapphire Safari
A particular trailer for a particular game from a particular company dropped this week, it gave us a better insight as to what features we should include in Sapphire Safari as a mainstay, the big one being able to edit the photos after taking them, which means once more, reworking how photos are stored. Previously it was a simple image being stored, now we will attempt to save everything in each shot so you can go into the photo and manipulate the image slightly, zoom in, pan, roll, add stickers/effects, etc. All so that sharing images in the full release will be fun and engaging.

We also sat down together to discuss user flow. This was a very interesting conversation as it amounted to making the game less track orientated and more like an on-rails Metroidvania. So now you can explore the whole island, not limited to a handful of levels, rather if you want to progress you will need vehicle upgrades and such. Wanna explore the ice region and see all the ice monster girls? You need the heater upgrade for the car. Our first 10 designs are also confirmed as well, I will go into more details with them in a later post. I hope you’ll enjoy what we have to offer, I am very excited for the future of this game!

Elewder
This week the devs have pushed to bring in the new models into the build, along with time spent refining the new procedural generation of the levels. There were some growing pains for importing the old animations and making sure “gravity” affects things the right way. Feedback on the previous release has been good, the aiming and movement is a focus. We are also going to be pushing in the next build a minimap to help with progression through the levels.

The last part of the current Elewder focus is on the keyart replacement, we basically need to rebuild the announcement trailer with the new models and build new screenshots for the new game focus. It takes time, but when the Steam profile is live we can focus on building the game faster.

Cosmic Harem (working title)

Welcome to the fold the 6th game Kinky is currently working on. The project name is Cosmic Harem, but in reality, it will likely be something else. For now, we are building the foundation of the game as making a nostalgic arcade puzzle game, the base needs to be damn near perfect.

The foundation consists of an animation system, a system for image display, and good user flow. Naturally, we will have more on this in the next coming weeks.

Ready for another week!

Stay moist homies!
