January Update + 2022 Plans :D (Patreon)

Happy new year everyone! I just want to make a big announcement post regarding some changes and future plans so that you all can be up to date once things start to shift around.

First of all, my spouse, milk, has been helping me with packing rewards every month and they’ve been a huge help! I still tend to get overwhelmed at times with how much there is to do so they have volunteered to help out with various other tasks as well. (which i am eternally grateful for ;0;) Here’s a quick message from them:

This is milk~ you might know me from the Discord/Support server :D I usually help out with announcements and shipping stuff, but I’m here to let you know that I’m going to be helping Apalloh out a lot more in the new year! I’m going to be doing my best with Discord announcements (for rewards shipments/delays, poll results & overall Patron support), general announcements here on Patreon for those who aren’t in the server, and I’ll be helping out answering DMs + emails for everything related to Patreon and Apalloh’s shop :D

As a side note: We take Fridays + Saturdays off, so we do not check or reply to DMs/emails on those days. I often forget to change my status on Discord to ‘Online,’ but do not let that stop you from leaving a question in the server or DMing me there!  I check Discord every day, and if it is a pressing matter I may get to you even on our days off.  You can find me @ m a r s#2218 or by looking for my profile in the server as milk ~

Milk is super nice and easy to work with so if anyone has any questions about their rewards or pledge info, don’t hesitate to ask on here through Patreon DMs or discord. I’ll still answer messages as well but I tend to be much more active on Patreon (and I’m not very discord savvy so I’m thankful milk can help there as well, haha;;;;)

There will be some major changes to physical rewards tiers coming soon!

2021 has been a great year doing monthly illustrations/prints and it’s been so much fun doing polls every month to decide which ones will come next. As cool as it’s been, doing full illustrations every month has been eating up some time that I would like to put into more comics. Due to that, here are some changes that I will be making:

- January’s sticker + print rewards poll will be the last one. The resulting print + sticker will go up in February as usual but this will be the last print/illustration that I do in a while.

- There will still be monthly polls for sticker rewards

- Once sticker-only polls begin there will be only one physical rewards tier, which will be the $9 tier. The other two $7 tiers will be removed, so to get a sticker you will have to join the $9 tier

So! Removing $7 tiers! No more prints! Sticker rewards are for $9 tier only! The reason why I have to raise single sticker rewards to the $9 tier is because I’ve been using this tier system for over a year now. When I first started doing physical rewards I wasn’t totally familiar with the cost of printing, shipping and supplies - all of that gets very expensive on my end, so I just had to bump up the tier a little bit in order to keep it sustainable.

Again, the removal of the $7 tiers wont go into effect until March but I just wanted to give you all a heads up now so that you can have plenty of time to decide what to do with your pledges~ I’ll continue to post about this later on as well as that time approaches.

That said, the monthly sticker polls will still continue and the $3 tier will still have access to voting but in order to receive a sticker you will have to join the $9 tier :)

New comic project!

Since I’m taking time away from doing illustrations / art prints, I will be focusing all that energy on a new comic project! This project involves short stories that may last 2-3 months (so each one will be about 10-15 pgs long) and at the end of every story (or chapter) there will be a poll to determine the next chapter and so on. I’m aiming to start this project in March but I’ll keep you all up to date with my progress in case I need a little more time getting started. 

As for the comic itself, I’m thinking “Beast of Prey” would be a good title but I just came up with that last night so xD we’ll just call it that for now! I’ve been playing a lot of Breath of the Wild lately and it inspired me to do a bunch of mini monsterfucker comics. It would follow Erik (or Jeriko, I cant decide which name he should go by) as he basically goes on a monster fucking/eating spree. He tracks monsters, fucks them and yes, eats them (like those fun dishes you can cook in BotW but the monster parts actually taste good) I mentioned polls at the end of every chapter too so I was thinking it would be fun to end each chapter with a little map with various locations marked and you guys can vote on which location he travels to next!

I want the vibe of the comic to be somewhat light hearted, not too serious. A little edgy here and there bc I’m an edgelord but I just want to have fun with it. I’ll talk about it much more as I make more progress with the story/art/etc. I’m very excited about the idea so I hope it sounds appealing to you guys as well! 

Current reward updates

Milk mentioned this in the discord server so some of you might already be aware but there will be a delay in shipping December’s print rewards. We got a message back from the printer saying that there has been a huge delay due to the holidays and that these prints won’t ship until the 17th of January. We’re hoping that they won’t arrive any later than that, but as soon as we get them we’ll pack them and send them out. Thank you cards are included in that print order, so ALL December rewards will be shipping out late this month D:

On another note, USPS still has not lifted restrictions for Australia-bound mail, so we’re still holding onto rewards for AU patrons. We’ve received quite a few in the mail from previous months dating back to September, so we’re keeping them nice and safe until they’re allowed to be sent out again. This pertains to shop orders as well! Thank you so much for your patience ; ;

Hellion’s Den

And finally, I just want to mention Hellion’s Den! It’s a website I’ve been working on that acts as an archive for all my comics/art. It’s mainly a patron-only website so you can access certain sections by signing in with your Patreon account. Sometimes it’s very difficult to navigate Patreon itself, even I have trouble finding certain comics / art pieces at times even with the tagging system, so Hellion’s Den is supposed to put all that struggling at ease, haha;; I noticed that the pages for Damsel, Jawbone and Dead Until Dawn tend to load slowly but that’s because when I originally saved the comic files they were never optimized for web so I’ll work on that as much as I can when I have free time. I’m also planning on uploading the original first 3 chapters of Enokan. Even though they don’t follow the storyline anymore it’s still fun to look back on them, so I would like to add them to the collection soon as well~

If anyone has experienced any issues with Hellion’s Den though, feel free to let me know! I’ll do my best to address any problems that might come up. Or if anyone has any suggestions that can help improve the site, that would be greatly appreciated as well! :)
