How to get CEMU 1.6.1

About the new debug setting: GPU buffer cache accuracy

In 1.6.1 there is now a menu option to switch between three different levels of accuracy for the buffer cache (previously known as vertex cache): High, Medium and Low.

For best performance, it is recommended to set the option to 'Low' (lowest accuracy) and only set it to Medium or High if you encounter flickering graphics or similar issues.

We made it possibly to change this setting while a game is running so you can easily see if it has any effect.

Known issues:

  • Recompiler can cause glitches/freezes.
  • New GPU buffer cache can cause flickering in certain games even on high accuracy setting. This issue will likely be addressed in 1.6.2

On an unrelated note: Don't use game dumps that are missing the /meta folder

Lately we have received a number of bug reports which were a result of users running incomplete game dumps. More specifically, the dumps were missing the /meta folder. This directory contains vital files that are necessary for accurate emulation. Starting with 1.6.1, CEMU will tell you in the titlebar if the /meta directory is missing.

For reference, an intact game dump should have at least three subdirectories in the root folder: /code, /content and /meta. Note that this only applies to extracted games. WUD or WUX dumps are fine as they are guaranteed to be tamper-proof.

Great work, but will there be a post telling what will be in the next version?

Anonymous

I do not work this version

Anonymous

What are you talking about?! How do you expect people to help with zero description of your issue. Just do a fresh install. The version is fine, the problem is on your end.

Anonymous

does anyone have any advise on any nividia settings my rig is i5 6600k oc to 4.3, 16 gb ram and gtx 970 oc and i can only get 35-40 fps latest drivers and windows 10 pro thanks in advance for any help ideas (version 1.6.1 Cemu)..

Anonymous

my question is because my cellular says very low speed

Anonymous

cemu says slow when you start

Anonymous

how can I solve that?

Anonymous

1.6.1 NSMBU crashes starting a game. pls halp

Anonymous

The Circus stages in Super mario 3D World run at 60 fps without the shadercache created. With the shadercache created run at 30 fps.

Anonymous

i7 4970k Gtx 1060. 3d World FPS dips all the time

cemu

Yes. Usually once we know what features will make it into the next release we will post about it. (you can expect news roughly 1-2 weeks from today I'd guess)

Good release but very bugguy for me : For exemple : Zelda twilight princess : if not putting GPU Buffer to high , many polygons are distored , and for me many game have the same problem :( . Plus amiibo fonction work well BUT i have a request Exzap : Can it be possible to had a function to remove amiibo files? Because without that , the scan is always on and for exemple in captain toad , function loops and challenge to find toas never stop :( . Other problem some game now crash randomly , like Wind waker HD ... :( Other bur in Donkey Kong : When you jump , there is big slowdown , even if i change GPU Buffer or audio disabled . Many game have this problem for metoo...

Anonymous

Few games started to crash randomly. For example, The Wind Waker, it will crash during gameplay, specifically while roaming inside the houses. However, this version released with a huge improvement in terms of performance, you did awesome work, so thank you very much.

cemu

At what point exactly does it crash? Also can you upload crashlog.txt from the cemu directory after it crashes?

Anonymous

Love Cemu I was having difficulties with 1.6.1 performance until I set GPU buffer cache accuracy to medium hope this helps some people get more enjoyment from Cemu

Curious... any plans to enable DLC support in MK8? We'll be your guaranteed best friends forever... Tempting... I know. 😉

Anonymous

Will you guys implement MSAA?

cemu

The plan is to look into DLC support later this year.

Efren

Any idea whats causing 2nd player input/controller to not be detected in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Shovel Knight? (Amiibo works, co-op doesn't) It seems thats pretty much all both of these titles are missing tbh.

Anonymous

A little request exzap , do you think you will implemented a function to load game , but with a start option and a stop option to stop closed Cemu when we want to open an other game?

Anonymous

Anyone got any idea's how to speed up Cemu loading times are slow and i only got about 10% increase in speed with 1.6.1 mk 8 went from about 35fps to 40fps running a i5 6600k oc 4.3 ghz 16gb ram and gtx 970 people claim 60 fps on less powerful systems? ????? Thanks for any help.

Anonymous

larry je suis a 50 fps minimum avec un amd fx 8350 et une gtx 970 et 16 go ram et windows 10

Anonymous

j'ai mis la nouvelle option gpu buffer cache en bas

Anonymous

Outstanding Work! I had 15-25fps in MK8 and now I have 35-60fps! Specs. Dual (2) Xeon's X5365 with R9 390 8gb, and 20GB ram

Anonymous

Great work on this update, Cemu is working much better...

Anonymous

Fps incremented from 26fps to 60fps stable whit Fx6300 and r9 380x on Mario 3d World

Anonymous

Are we close to having wiimote support?

Anonymous

Mario World is much better for me as well. I have an FX 8350 running stock and a R9 390. I am still unable to get decent FPS on Mario Kart 8. I can barely get 20fps, it stutters so bad and FPS will drop to the single digits. Does anyone have a similar configuration and get better results.

Anonymous

first of all, great update! This reminds me of the days of UltraHLE when suddenly, out of nowhere a current gen console is being emulated to a point where games can be played very well! I have one issue though... recently I bought an eGPU setup to play games through a GTX1060 mini instead of my dGPU which is a 650m (Macbook Pro Early 2013 model) All games utilize the eGPU except for cemu, which for some reason prefers my internal GPU. any ideas why? <a href="http://imgur.com/CBzJs7y" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://imgur.com/CBzJs7y</a>

Anonymous

Have you tired lowering VC and disabling streamout?

Anonymous

Still persists same error in Mario 3d World in the level Switchboard falls at the third world. Some platforms keep falling when they shouldn't.

Anonymous

Can you give us a time frame for the next release yet?

cemu

Not yet, but in a few days there will be a Patreon post with update details and release date.

Anonymous

Will there be a fix for this (<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/cemu/comments/56ze37/cemu_161_major_texture_glitch/)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.reddit.com/r/cemu/comments/56ze37/cemu_161_major_texture_glitch/)</a> in 1.6.2? It worked fine on 1.6.0

Anonymous

Wow... I put the MK8 folder on my M.2 SDD, the system volume, and I've seen massive improvement where stuttering is concerned. To be sure, I had the game on an SSD before, but moving it to the system SSD was the right thing to do. Few freezes, maybe one brief freeze every three races. I'm running a GTX 770 OC 4GB, Devils Canyon i5 @ 4.2 GHz and, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3. Kudos team!

Great release team Cemu! Another step closer to perfection. It's amazing how much faster this version is. The slow down that was present on my GTX 1070 is gone to. You should add a compatibility section to your website that users can contribute to like CxBx Reloaded has. Probably the only way everyone is going to be able to stay on top of that as often as you guys make new versions. Lol

One thing I noticed is some games are unplayable after certain points such as super mario 3d world as an example where you have to rely on the touch screen to advance in some levels. What are your current plans for this.

Anonymous

You use your mouse pointer and click on the screen.

Okay I tried interpreter and to my amazement, it seemed a bit faster! 1.6.0 is still way faster than 1.6.1 though, no matter what the settings. And with interpreter, the graphics are messed - flowers only show mouthes/etc. With compiled the graphics showed the whole flowers but glitched in other ways and the game crashed so again, I think more work needs to be done simply.
