About the new debug setting: GPU buffer cache accuracy
In 1.6.1 there is now a menu option to switch between three different levels of accuracy for the buffer cache (previously known as vertex cache): High, Medium and Low.
For best performance, it is recommended to set the option to 'Low' (lowest accuracy) and only set it to Medium or High if you encounter flickering graphics or similar issues.
We made it possibly to change this setting while a game is running so you can easily see if it has any effect.
Known issues:
- Recompiler can cause glitches/freezes.
- New GPU buffer cache can cause flickering in certain games even on high accuracy setting. This issue will likely be addressed in 1.6.2
On an unrelated note: Don't use game dumps that are missing the /meta folder
Lately we have received a number of bug reports which were a result of users running incomplete game dumps. More specifically, the dumps were missing the /meta folder. This directory contains vital files that are necessary for accurate emulation. Starting with 1.6.1, CEMU will tell you in the titlebar if the /meta directory is missing.
For reference, an intact game dump should have at least three subdirectories in the root folder: /code, /content and /meta. Note that this only applies to extracted games. WUD or WUX dumps are fine as they are guaranteed to be tamper-proof.
