Time for some predictions and speculation. "This years contest" Alright so we know that when "hibernating" this character looses weight, or so that's what's been implied. So going off of this, we can assume that other people based off of animals will hibernate in this world and loose weight as well. From that we can assume that this competition involves a lot of animals that hibernate. and will involve which person can gain the most amount of weight until the next hibernation where everyone goes back to a base weight. I predict that this will be similar to a typical shounen tournament. We'll be introduced to other characters who are going to join and we'll see these people all fight to try and gain the most weight to win. Myu enters and bam she gains weight to try and win.
