I finally got some time to really play around with AI (stable diffusion) the last week or so, and it's been a lot of fun! However, I don't really think you can even consider this picture as being AI art.  The only things AI about it are the background and the woman's face. Here's the actual AI picture I started with:

So, this is basically just a morph using a fake woman. I still had to draw the body, morph things, add lighting and colour, lighting correction, colour correction, etc.

Anyway,  I know the AI debate is a pretty heated one right now, and I'm definitely conflicted on it. On one side, I feel that existential threat kicking in, but on the other, I see amazing potential.

Funny enough, though, I've been slightly underwhelmed by most of the AI stuff I've seen. I mean, you can only see generic, mostly nude, super-realistic anime girl staring soullessly at the camera so many times.. But that 1% of stuff I've seen with some creativity has been sorta mind-blowing. Unfortunately, AI makes the barrier to entry pretty low, and, unsurprisingly, that leads to a ton of generic looking art.

All that's to say that I think artists will be around for quite some time to come. There's more to creating art, especially nsfw art, than just putting pixels on a screen. You can have the greatest technical ability and still make boring art. I'm actually excited about the prospect of people with amazing ideas that are limited by their technical ability that can now finally show the world their creativity.

I think I'll probably play around with this stuff a bit more, though, I think there's probably some really cool applications for it. Let me know if you'd be interested in seeing more, or if you think this is a  treason to the art community!
