Not gonna work for The Otaku Box anymore! (Patreon)

As you probably know, I did a bunch of commissions for The Otaku Box to put on items in their box. They made a very good offer to someone stuggling to make a living off of art, so I said yes. The idea of a more lewd subscription box sounded great and it's nice to know some people wear a shirt with my drawing or put it on their wall.

A few month ago I already thought about quitting because of the bad communication with them, some negative reviews and other details, but due to the pandemic I was afraid many would cancel their pledge and those commissions had been a steady income, so I postponed the decision. Meanwhile some peeps indeed had to cancel because of lost jobs etc and I'm very sorry about that and appreciate everyone who supported me in the past and everyone that still can support! Thank you so much! 🙏

Recently they launched another service called EcchiArt, a digital subscription, a mix out of cosplay photos and drawings. They asked if I could work for them full time, if I could do more art, speed drawings etc and they asked to use my Patreon content for that as well. I told them I don't want that and prefer to keep it to the original deal: 2 drawings per month, they can use the drawings for items in the box and I can use the digital version for supporters.

Later I learned (and saw for myself) they use the commissioned drawings for EcchiArt as well. That was not part of the deal and that's not how commissions work. I don't sell prints of these artworks and they shouldn't sell the digital version. So I asked them about that and well... they got very rude. They even blocked my emails! After some days mailing them multiple times someone got back to me and paid me a bonus for using the commissions on Ecchiart, which honestly felt a lot like damage control. Especially since another artist, Cait aka caitaron, recently tweeted Otaku Box actually stole their art. That's insane... I wish I'd have reached out to Cait in the past and learned about that earlier. They rely so heavily on artworks by Cait and me - I really don't understand why they act like that.

Anyway from now on I won't work for them anymore. I'll still share all the remaining commissioned artworks with my patrons in the next months and I'm actually super happy to close that chapter! I'll have some extra time now, yay! But since this deal made up almost 50% of my income, I have to look into new options to make some money. While it would be super cool if I could just focus on drawing boobies and booty all day for supporters, this just doesn't make not enough atm. 

So I'll see this as an opportunity to try out other stuff! I get asked for commissions every few days, so maybe I could add more spots to the commission Tier or finally do some full blown commissions. Maybe a YCH auction or adoptable OCs from time to time - I always wanted to try that out! I also plan to increase the commission Tier from 85 to 100$ next month. They were actually meant to be doodle commissions, but I couldn't really establish a doodle style I like, so they just became a bit less detailed drawings. Hope you'll understand this decision!

Growing my following and pleasing my supporters with hot drawings will always be my top priority, so I'll do my very best to serve you great content further on!
