On Word Choice - Futanari (Patreon)

 I reblogged [this post] yesterday and one of my followers sent my a very fascinating blog post from someone over on Weasly [about a new term they were using for fantasy characters with non-standard sexual configurations] over other things.

That term is altersex and as a linguist, I really like it.

My desire to use intersex as a blanket for any character between male and female was well meaning, but not quite in the right place. Altersex works much better as it does not have a real world mapping, it is literally only for fantasy bodies and it does not (for now) carry the connotations of futanari, shemale, dickgirl, etc.

Altersex transformation will replace futanari transformation as a tag eventually. Becoming altersex will replace becoming intersex pretty much right away. Penis Growth will still be a tag to indicate a character grows one or more penises (as opposed to Penis Expansion which is the growth of an existing penis).

This really makes me want to sit down and write out all my tags so people know what I mean by Adonis Transformation (guy gets taller and more buff in a hunky, urbane kind of way) and how that differs from Lumberjack Transformation* (which is much more rugged, raw masculinity kind of thing). 

*Lumberjack Transformation is not yet a tag, was using Hercules Transformation, but that is not quite right
