Lots to talk about, first, some news for you all.

Since I had all of my large-ish commission tiers wind up empty in the past couple months and I do not really have the bandwidth to take on any new pieces of those sizes, I am closing them for now and adding four more slots for Microfictions which I can knock out on a regular basis once I get my tempo figured out.

Following on that and on a more personal note...

I really appreciate you all sticking with me.

The last couple of months have been an utter train wreck between my mental health, my in-laws, and earnestly getting into work at the new job--I have been coding every day for the last two weeks and it has been amazing. However, typing lines of code all day does not leave nearly as much time for side work as, say, answering phones and resetting people's domain passwords. Which, really, has been the biggest hit to my output.

While lamenting that, a friend presented me with an old Chinese proverb--and it is one I have been saying a lot recently to keep my anxiety at bay.

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.

In a way, this saying is emblematic of you all helping me to fight my depression. Getting prompts and commissions done and posted is a much better use of my energy than wallowing in regret that I have not finished them yet.

So what this hasn’t been my best year? I am not going to let that stop me from continuing to write. Just because I have missed some deadlines does not mean I am going to lie down and give up.

I do, however, need to adjust my expectations about my ability to balance work and writing.

On that note, expect smaller, more bite-sized stories on a more regular basis instead of spending all week to put out one long piece. this also means getting back to episodic content in earnest! So expect to see a few polls about your favorite settings and all here on Patreon!

Also, one last thing, tomorrow is Feedback Friday so hit me with your judgments on or off anon

Until next time!
