Update on the webcomic matter (Patreon)

Today we want to talk about the future of the webcomic and the decision we settled on, after carefully researching various possibilities and looking into the whole matter the last couple weeks.

We talked to some of you on the last VIP chat and after thinking things through, we basically came to the same conclusion everyone advised us to take in this matter:

The current chapter of the webcomic will be completed, it will not be continued "now" but rather once Deathblight Guilty Raid is fully released.

(this can very well take 6 months)

Furthermore, after the current chapter of the webcomic is wrapped up, the story will be continued as Visual Novel/Kinetic Novel instead.

This will ensure that the end of the chapter of the webcomic will be roughly in line with the production, possibly even the release of the Visual Novel.

We came to this conclusion after recent changes in the market (Steam opening up to adult games, Tumblr banning adult content etc) and we believe it's the best approach to take in order to ensure that we can continue producing Deathblight related games and stories in the future.

The webcomic simply wasn't viable anymore and the Tumblr ban just made matters worse.

Investigations into other websites (like Newgrounds) proved to be rather fruitless, due to the websites not being fit for uploading webcomics and various other reasons.

This ultimately forced us to come to this conclusion, so we hope you all understand.

This being said, we plan to go full steam ahead with our self funded project Deathblight Guilty Raid (based on old LDH) while also working on Deathblight RPG as much as usual.

Once DB Guilty Raid is fully released, we will continue work on the webcomic with 1 page per week, while simultaneously working on a Deathblight Visual Novel/Kinetic Novel.
