Ahoy hoy!

We figured we should post a couple details about the current status and delays on Deathblight RPG Alpha 3.

While we didn't name a release date, there had been a few setbacks in the last couple weeks.

No worries, we've been working on fixing these issues and, in fact, have already fixed things.


What happened:

Our Game Designer got kicked out of home.

Since he's a member of our team we helped him as good as possible to find a new appartment.

Yesterday he signed the contract and moved into a new appartment, so we took care of that.

Still it took a lot of effort and time, which explaines the delays.


While he was looking for a new appartment, his work on Deathblight RPG got a bit delayed.

By now most of the work is done, and only a few things are missing.

We figured we should tell everyone about this so you guys know what's going on.


Here's a list of things that are done and things that are still missing to release Deathblight RPG Alpha 3.


Graphics done:

- Catheline combat graphics 11 out of 11 (complete) 100%

- Ferania CG (complete) 100%

- Catheline CG (complete) 100%


Graphics work in progress:

- Minori CG (some variations missing, everything else done) 75%

- Game Over CG with Ferania, Minori and Catheline (background missing) 90%

- Event CG (coloration and variations missing) 30%

- New enemy types (lines of all enemies done, coloration missing) 50%


Non Graphical work (programming etc.) done:

- Maps of the new city parts and second dungeon (complete) 100%

- Catheline implemented (complete, balancing adjustments needed) 100%


Non Graphical work in progress:

- Placement of events and dialogues (almost done, editing and testing needed) 90%

- Implementation of new enemy types (happens once the graphics are done) 0%

- Implementation of CG scenes (happens once the CGs are done) 0%



Once all of this is done, testing and bugfixing is needed, though we test our stuff all the time so this shouldn't take much time unless we run into some really serious bug.



In case you wonder why so many CGs are started but not done yet:


I usually do the sketch and lineart, but I don't do the base colouring myself.

So once the lineart is done and the CG is ready to get base coloured, I work on another CG in the meantime while waiting for the base colouring to be done.

In order to prevent work from getting stuck, I try to always have a new lineart done so it is ready for base colouring.

While a piece is being base coloured, I continue work on some other piece.

And this is the reason why so many CG scenes are started but only some of them are 100% done.

(it's more time efficient and I never run out of work that way)


At any rate, we keep you updated!

The things that happened to our Game Designer slowed us a bit down since we were still relying on him to get some work done (maps and event placement) but since he's almost done we should be able to finish things up.

Especially since he now has an appartment and should be able to get back to the remaining work shortly.

I hope your game designer is safe and comfy in their new home. We dont mind waiting for quality updates so theres no rush uwu
