Ok, home stretch.

This month is going to consist mostly of rendering, editing, mixing, and touching up this animation I'm working on.  I can't give an exact release date for the final product yet, except for 'this month'.  I think I might just release it publicly off the bat, similar to my Wonder Woman project, but put out a teaser of the final scene on Patreon beforehand.  I may end up doing an animation challenge this month as well, so I'll try to give a week's notice if I do.

I've been told that 2020 ended and we've collectively renewed our lease on life, so I'll be evolving the Patreon as needed.  Right now I'm happy enough with this arrangement, but there are a few things I'd like to tweak.

I'd like to post more content to public outlets like Twitter.  The problem is that a lot of my work is gated behind Patreon.  This normally isn't a big deal but when I'm working on big projects it can get a bit barren outside of this website.

One of my solutions is to release any pin-ups that are >1 year old.  They are consistent content, I'd like to share them, and most people aren't signing up to see those old images anyway.

Another solution is to change around how I'm doing work in progress material.  I'd like to show the public what I'm up to more often, so I'd like to rethink what I'm keeping Patreon exclusive and what I release.  This probably means I'll release more material in general, but most will be less polished, like simple renders of alternate angles, screenshots, and playblasts.

This bridges into another tweak I'd like to make.  I plan on working on more long projects in the future, but my release strategy can be difficult at times.  I try to have big milestones every month, but that means putting a lot of pressure on rendering and almost always puts me in a sort of race.  On one hand, this is good because it keeps me more disciplined.  On the other hand, it's very inconvenient when trying to make one large consistent product, because the time pressure pushes me to segment and makes it much harder to re-render or tweak previous scenes.  As a result, each part of the project can vary a lot in quality.  And, since I'm basically presenting a new scene at the end of every month, it puts me in a mentality that limits me creatively when approaching a large project.  For example: I can't take the time to block out the animation of the whole project because I'm too busy trying to get the first scene out the door.

So expect some changes there.  Nothing big, I'm not really changing anything that's written, but I'm just adjusting my mentality and approach to try to benefit my work in the long run.

As I've alluded to above, in the future more parts of my projects might not contain any pornographic content at all (like the intro to Whiteout, or Generous Donation) in order to focus more on making these videos completed products instead of disjointed collections of scenes.  There may come a time where the short-form stuff and pin-ups are the main features of the Patreon, supporting larger projects like these in the background.  I think this shift is better for everyone involved, because in theory this provides everyone with more consistent content and gives me more time to breathe and think through the less flashy stuff.

That's all folks.  Thanks for the support!

Happy to support you in general you make God tier to in my opinion, one of the best high quality creators. Good to take breaks every once in a while. I'm going to, I've been pumping out stuff crazy the last couple weeks. Then I will move on to blender... Again, since I finally got a fix, just had to revert to older amd gpu driver

FWIW, I'm not subscribed for any exclusivity or feeling of..."entitlement" to any material above others. I wouldn't mind if you posted everything you did here for free elsewhere - I'm subscribed because I like your content and want to incentivize you creating more. Even "exclusive" content gets shared around the web almost immediately anyway.

Excited hope we get kassandra this year glad to hear you’re doing well

Totally agree with your points there. Do whatever will keep you working in a happy way, whatever will help you grow, and whatever will deliver quality. You're doing the right thing if you feel better about your work.

Can't speak for anyone but myself but even if you released everything public at the same time I would still be a patron. I do this to keep you motivated because you are one of my favorite creators.

You know, I was thinking recently that you really should get someone to help you do some of the grunt work of animating. I know Amazonium3D love your models, and he's got pretty decent skills, so maybe he'd be would like a chance to help you out. Not an animator myself but I am sure there's some basic scene building or setup type stuff that another animator can take off your hands so as to give you more time to focus on other things. Just a thought

I can say the determining factor of paying was A) I pay for things I want more of and B) the convenience/time saving of being able to download from the source instead of through twitter/img sites/etc. Exclusivity/timing wasn't a factor whatsoever.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and plans. And in terms of rendering, I definitely agree that when you complicate something, it stimulates and disciplines you, and that's not bad.

For my part, stuff not being exclusive to Patreon doesn't make me sweat.

Jimmy

I really respect your work ethic and your transparency with your strategies. Your work is amazing and I'm sure a lot of us will keep supporting you no matter how much of the work is made public. As long as there's a cross-post to Patreon and we don't have to dig through Twitter to find it, I'm more than happy.

I'm mainly pledging to keep supporting your work, not so much for the exclusives. But I'm more than happy to have whatever exclusives you come up with lol.

How long does it take you to mix in audio and is it easer then all the other stuff you do or harder cause maybe your more familiar with animation instead of doing sound?

nyl2

The difficulty can vary according to what's going on in the scene, but in general it takes me much less time than animation would. The whole process takes a little longer now that I'm involving voice actors, but I try to overlap it with the visual side by giving performers playblast material while the rendering is still taking place. I'm fairly comfortable when it comes to sound and I'm usually doing pretty simple work, so it's often not as daunting as some other aspects of production.

Sven

your last animation was 6 months ago. when are you going to finish all these preview animations?

nyl2

All of these preview animations are part of one long animation I'm working on, which I'll be releasing this month. This is all information that you can find in the post above as well as within my other public update posts.

Sven

ok got it. i should have read the information ;)

as a ex maya user, I feel for you. Ambitious Rendering can be brutal.

I've thought about what roles I could hire out to speed things up and improve the quality of the product, but it's tough when it comes to animation. I could definitely use people to help in some areas but not others. I think I'll make a post about it.

Excited to see your work this year

I'm all for you releasing more plot oriented animations. Taboomania recently released a scene of a futa at the doctor without sex and I found it super hot.
