In addition to helping me render out most of my more recent animations, my comrade has rendered out some stereo angles for use in VR.  I personally haven't tried them out as I don't have VR, but I thought you guys might be interested in them.  I haven't done much with them, so there may be problems with the audio and you can obviously see beyond the sets, but if there's much interest then perhaps I'll consider developing them further.

Here's the first one!

It is possible to enjoy this without VR... For most / some of us. If you can gently cross your eyes until the two images merge into one, it will be a stereoscopic image; but with one problem... It's backwards. If I load this into my compositor and swap the image positions, the cross-eyed method works well. It would be better if it didn't have the super wide field of view, however.

I say some of us because not all of us can cross our eyes with the required amount of control. Maybe it takes practice. For me, I can look at it cross-eyed for a long time in comfort.

Seems other clips are cross-eyed by default. Even a $20 VR phone mount from amazon makes a big difference. Noname55 does non-spherical VR which is less immersive, but can be easier enjoyed as cross-eyed stereoscopic images. It's a trade off.

2021-07-15 04:34:21 Just watched this one in VR. A crazy intensive render, especially that you are so close to the action. With a VR-Headset on it is like if you are only 20-30cm away from them. If I had to nitpick on something, I would say, a higher resolution would add a lot to the experience (I would suggest 4k-resolution). I hope for more VR in the future. It looks really promissing. <3

*laughs in render times* But I agree, higher resolutions are always better for headsets. I guess that gives Eevee the edge for those looking to experiment with VR. Thanks for the feedback!
