Some Changes to Patreon Model Moving Forward (Patreon)

Hello All,

I wanted to share with you some changes that I wanted to make for a while now. 

As with 2021, Patreon did have some radical taxation policy which really hit me hard, I tried to endure it for a while now, 8 months to be exact. 

It's also quite a challenge not being able to hear you guys feedback on things were creating on Realtime bases. As it's quite frankly very tedious to maintain posting a WIP when you have to backlog all the steps in order to create a long post to share with you all that are privileged. 

This frankly has 2 major issues, the first is that I have to collect the WIP material as I make it so I can one day share it, which can be between a week or 2 months. Or the other issue which is my fault and that is the tier of $5. 

When creating this Patron. I honestly never thought that people would subscribe to just see progress and share their thoughts and give feedback. But that was the case, so I want to unify most of the tiers so that all who is a Patreon would get a voice and also would be able to know what is progressing day in and day out.

Also in term of content sharing, I want to unify the engagement front on Discord in order to maintain flexibility on releases and maintain links easier. 

In general, these changes will cover Patreon as a whole and moving forward will take effect on September 1st.

Changes will effect the following: 

• Patreon Tiers
• Content Sharing
• Information Sharing

Patreon Tiers:

As of now, in the Patreon we have 4 Tiers ($2/3/5/7)

Tier of $2 Covers: Normal Looks. 

Tier of $3 Covers: Monster Looks.

Tier of $5 Covers: Concepts and Work in Progress and Updates.

Tier of $7 Covers: Support tier.

What I want to do is remove the first 2 Tiers ($2/$3) and combine their functionality in Tier 3 ($5) 

This means that moving forward the first 2 Tiers will be phased out, no longer you can subscribe to them but they will continue to exist until all subscribing Patreons have changed their tiers to the new tier. Why would you do that? This will take us to the next point.

Content Sharing:

So moving forward, I'll be linking all Patreon releases through Discord, this means you will be able to see the post, but the link will always be inside Discord as a relased verison. I have seen other creators successfully manage that and it is very intuitive and easy to manage. 

On the plus side, if you have upgraded or is in the Tier $5. This will be the new default tier in which content will be shared. It will also automatically detect your Discord account and provide you the right authorization to gain a Discord privilege. This is also true for the new Support tier the $10.

Why am I doing this? It's quite frankly very exhausting to have to share content and maintain it on several fronts, this will give me an ease of access as I will not have to open many pages to modify many embedded links all over the place. Which after a while it gets tedious, and by a while I mean 2 years of content. 

If I have all the links accessible infront of me, It will make my life much easier to manage this and will not make it a chore anymore.

Which will also lead into the next point.

Information Sharing:

Obviously since we will have a discord, we will finally have a place to discuss and showcase progression. This is something I have always wanted to do but it would have required a huge undertaking.

In the beginning of my Patreon journey, I used to have a monthly poll and concept voting. I honestly miss these days, as it always gave me a window into your thoughts and you always loved to choose the hardest one for me to make. 

By having a discord server, we will be able to have something like this to share and show progress, this will also bring more transparency to you all as to what I'm doing on daily basis. 

As my creation cycle is getting rather more complex as I challenge myself on every release, so does the timeframe of said release. If I cannot showcase the progress, you will all feel left out not knowing what's in store while I keep hording the concepts so I can showcase them in a post that also only a few of you will have access towards. I do not like this in all honesty 😥.

The TLDR 

Patreon Tiers will change:

• $2/3 will be phased out and replaced with $3 for Videos and $5 for VaM Content while $7 will be changed to Tier $10.
• Content will be shared moving forward only on Discord, no more posting links on Patreon.
• WIP and Concepts will be engaged through Discord on day to day, meaning whatever I make you will see as a WIP or Concept which will prompt engagement from your side.
• Changes will be effective on 1st of September.
