I've been to Hawaii, BUT I was just 9 years old at the time AND I was very nearsighted. My parents kept gasping over the waterfalls and I was yelling at them to stop lying and teasing me! Same thing happened to my older sister when she took her on a road trip through the Western States years before. Both of my parents never needed to go to the eye doctor so it never crossed their minds that their children might need glasses until AFTER a ruined vacation. From what I COULD see, Hawaii was absolutely beautiful but it's easy to turn into a sunburned bright red lobster. I would love to go back there (& schedule an eye exam right before too!)
