I have a conundrum (like Alfonsen), and would like your input.

My family has suggested I self-publish on Amazon, and I'm seriously considering it. I'm not sure about the KU route, since I don't want to Stub.

And now my conundrum: I already wrote over 145k words, and the Earth arc is about 60-70% done, so it will reach a minimum of 160-170k.

Should I publish the Shimoor arc as a separate book and Earth as a separate book, or combine them in one baby-brick?

What do you think?

Ko-fi like patreon but I think they take a flat fee rather than a percentage and may be better as you grow. Publishing to amazon is a good way to earn extra money since you publish to RR so people otherwise wouldn't pay. I think separating them based on arcs makes sense. Lastly publishing on amazon means it could get printed into physical books and although you are a real author, it would make others who don't read web novels view you as one which seems like it may be valuable to you in the future. I don't know how the kindle to real book publishing works. I know many books on amazon nowadays are printed to order which means they just print the book after its ordered at an amazon facility near the customer and then ship it to them

I would put it into two books, 90k words is a good size for a normal book on Amazon, and you can either self-publish or find a publisher. The former means that you will have to do the advertising, art, and editing all yourself, but you'll reap more profit from each book sold, with the latter the publisher will do most of that but will both take a part of the profit and have a say in some things. I went with the publisher route and do not regret it, but I can understand both sides.
