Synopsis

A Low-Stakes, Cozy, Slice-Of-Life Travelogue Adventure

In an astonishing turn of events, John, a 37-year-old widower, discovers an extraordinary ability: Traveling between worlds through dimensional Gates. Overcome by his painful past, his initial desire is to abandon Earth, searching for peace in a new place. After doing some research and training, he goes off to explore different worlds.

Even though his class has the potential to be incredibly OP, John doesn’t really care about that. He’s not interested in fighting to get stronger or becoming some kind of hero who conquers new lands. Instead, he’s on a personal journey—to heal from grief, rediscover the simple joys of life, and explore the magical wonders of the multiverse. John wants to travel, meet new people, and maybe help some of them as a doctor and healer if he feels like it. This isn’t a story about epic battles or quests for power, but about quiet exploration and personal growth.

The story unfolds at a slow, steady pace, written in a diary-style narrative from John’s perspective, with some details intentionally left out because he didn’t find them important.

The first book follows John’s journey in Shimoor, a low-mana world with a medieval society where magic is barely there. This “tutorial world” gives John the slow, peaceful pace he needs to start his journey.

In the second book, John returns to Earth. His focus shifts to friendship and personal growth. With the perspective of a seasoned traveler, John discovers the marvels of Earth with fresh eyes, and does too much shopping.

The third book takes John to Lumis, a medium mana world with dungeons and interesting places. And for the first time, he travels for the sake of traveling and exploring a new place.

Through these laid-back adventures, John’s tale gradually unfolds, emphasizing the small yet significant moments that bring joy and purpose to life. The travelogue explores both the worlds and the self, revealing that the magic of discovery is present in both the extraordinary and the everyday.

The narrative weaves short side stories throughout. Some offer glimpses into the multiverse and other travelers, all eventually tying back to the main plot. Others provide a fresh perspective on the events in the main story.
