FELLAS, when I tell you I got severely stunlocked by this illustration I really do be meaning it. I don't have WIPs or a timelapse recording or even a known amount of hours I've spent working on this because I went into this with zero intention of turning it into anything presentable. But once I started, my dirty lil' drawing hand couldn't stop until I painted over the whole damn thing.

This started as a lil' AI image that I had generated while messing around with SDXL.

The overall vibe was cute, but as with all AI images the details turn into a goofy nonsensical mess the moment you stop squinting your eyes. So I basically painted everything over. I wanted to keep as much of the traditional-oil-painting style as I could, but as you know I'm normally all about making things as S M O O T H and B L E N D E D as possible, so I think I only somewhat succeeded on that front. Still though, I like the end result a lot.

There's something oddly therapeutic about taking AI images and painting over them. I can't imagine the feeling being too far off from how it feels to take an old beat-up car that you know has potential and fix it up into something nice.

And no I do not want to talk about how long it took me to paint all them goddamn flowers. I didn't even go that hard on the detailing and they still took me forever

Really worth the effort you put into it, though, it looks absolutely amazing and you really bring out the beauty and shape to Flutters fantastically well. I really love the way you take on these AI pictures and paint over them, turning them into something really beautiful and uniquely yours, much like that fixed-up car. Really really adore the level of detail in the flowers and the way you were able to bring those colors out even better, balancing them and bringing them more to life in a way that really helps accents her in the piece and gives a stronger framing for your composition.

That oil painting style really does look good, and I don't think I could fathom how long those flowers took. Tis a shame AI is set up to just grab and amalgamate dozens of images to generate what's prompted. With proper implementation, it would be a good tool for references for artists.
