As mahito said, no matter how strong of an attack todo lands on mahito, it ultimately will deal no damage since todo can't touch/deal damage to his soul. That's why he said in the prior episode that yuji and the late nobara were his natural enemies, because they can damage his soul. Yuji can by coincidence since he's housing sukuna, a second soul. And nobara by using her resonance technique. All that to say that todo's role in this fight is basically to assist yuji with swapping and providing openings for him.
