fun reminder Captain John was actually one of the zombies on Thriller Bark and that is why the armlet was in the pile of treasure. Also the reason Buggy really wants Captain Johns's treasure is because iirc its supposedly one of the largest hidden treasures in the world.

Jack, you saying "That line! If he had said 'You know my father.' - If he had said that line at that episode, I would have been so confused." made me laugh. Because that IS EXACTLY what he said in that episode. Whoever did the english subtitles at the time of that episode translated it differently. I grew up with the German dub of One Piece originally, which translated it correctly, so Ace calling Whitebeard his father was something fans speaking Japanese or German already knew about for a long time at this point in the series. Likewise with a few other instances, to a similar result, that 'should not be' a spoiler at this time of the plot, but are in the English translation because the localisation had to make choices on the definition and further down the line it became apparrent that it was translated incorrectly. I can't speak for how other languages translated it but from what I've been able to gather over the years it's only specifically the English translation that made this particular topic unclear. (And before someone asks: Yes, the German localisation team also had similar instances of making the wrong choice here and there, just in other cases.)

i love this arc. This arc made me appreciate buggy so much more and has quickly climbed up my favorite character ranking in the whole show.
