Jack, concerning the whole ANIME-CANON thing , Akira Toriyama back then when DBS began, he drew most of the character designs and he would give the major plot points of an arc to both Toei Animation and someone called Toyotarou, who is his successor, and because the DBS manga is a monthly manga unlike the original Dragonball manga that Toriyama drew which was a weekly release, Toyotarou was falling behind the anime, so much so that by the time the anime began the Goku Black arc, Toyotarou was just now beginning the DBS manga, and from then on the gap kept increasing that by the time the anime version of the FINAL ARC ended in March 2018 with episode 131,,,, Toyotarou had just wrapped the manga Goku Black arc and he began drawing the FINAL ARC of the manga in the month of June 2018 so by default, the events of the anime came first and the manga events came after

I wish they kept the whole Future Gohan death in DBS the same as in the Future Trunks SPECIAL

Technically all of DBS anime is anime canon since the anime was ahead of the manga and doesn't adapt the manga.

Fun fact: the sweater that Trunks is wearing now is the one from Xenoverse Trunks, or Xeno Trunks for short. You couldn't see it from the coat hes wearing, but if you look closely at his neck, you'll see the similarities.

to be fair, toyotarou wasn't falling behind, it's because of the way the manga is serialized. Kaiju no. 8 is bi-weekly for example. but db super and boruto are monthly. the monthly serialization and the combination of the anime airing is what lead to the slowness of the manga. personally, imo the manga overall is better than the anime because of the time it could take to be written and use the anime's flaws to its advantages. my only issue with the manga is the endings of each arc are either mid or terrible, while having phenomenal first and second acts

In the manga, History of Trunks was a bonus chapter. In the anime it was a TV Special, so it's just like an episode except it's not in the episode count.
