Amazing episode. I unexpectedly cried after seeing Lady Nagant desperately giving them the intel as she was in so much pain and nearly dead, and when she said to Hawks "how can you still be okay?", especially because as an anime only viewer I don't know if she will live. Hawks being there to catch her as her replacement was so perfect, Hawks is such an amazing character (With a 10/10 VA). It's beautiful that she was able to change, but very sad that she was used by AFO. I personally don't believe Nagant knew that AFO put that quirk trap inside her, I think that asshole did it without telling her when he gave her the quirk. I hate AFO so much, dude was just smiling in his chair thinking about using and killing another hero. He's completely irredeemable. Like Jack said I was also happy that we got to see a more concrete example of what makes the hero society corrupt. Many villains say the hero society is corrupt, but we rarely get shown any actual examples and are almost always shown the sunny side of things. This seems to be related to how Deku is trying to understand what happened to corrupt Shigaraki so that he can save him.

Fortune Lekoto

honestly, I don't see it as the hero society being corrupt for having a sort of black ops operation headed by the government, do I see it as right? no, I don't see it as right but I do see it as being sort of realistic in a way, as in like to maintain the peace in the world there has to be a dark side to this hero business, but I do agree that the hero society has made ordinary people soft and docile which can lead to situations such as the ones that led to the rise of Shigaraki when he was alone in the streets

DiamonDust

@Fortune Lekoto That's the thing though, the Safety Commission's work was not focused on maintaining the peace. It was focused on cover ups achieved through murder, all for the purpose of making Hero society look perfect and morally correct to the public. They could have simply captured the anti-hero terrorists or the corrupt heroes and tried them in a court of law to maintain peace, but they didn't do that. They erased them from the record through assassination so that the public wouldn't see the dark side of the hero society. Not only is it corrupt to kill without trial, it's also corrupt to pretend that hero society is perfect while hiding the filth. As Nagant said, it's basically brainwashing. Instead of solving the hero corruption problem, they covered it up so that no one knew. The problem won't be solved that way, cover ups just make it easier for corruption to fester and also creates villains like Shigaraki and countless others. Not to mention how messed up it is to make a Hero like Nagant a sacrifice for your corrupt operation, even trying to kill her when she questioned the morality. She was completely traumatized by the disgusting work she had been ordered to do. AND like you said, society was so brainwashed into thinking Hero Society was perfect that they left a child like Shigaraki alone saying "a Hero will help you, I have to go.". I'm sure he wasn't the only one.

Faux 100%, deku now can tap into the same strength as all might for a moment without breaking his body at all and it has been less than a year since he first used OFA

i do like the concept of all the quirks being kinda useless by themselves (except one for all) and only combined in rapid and parallel succession that it's OP

Smiling Saiyan

I’m so excited for the next one!

DiamonDust

Yep! It means Deku has to use that big brain of his to strategize, or the extra quirks won't get him anywhere.
