Shoutout to this episode's sick lighting, harsh shading and framing to really depict Endeavor as an absolutely frightening monster in those flashbacks. It's so much more effective imo than just explicitly saying "This character is doing bad things" or in the worst case, depicting gross behavior as a gag.

Very powerful backstory, now we have the complete picture. Endeavor abandoned Toya after he realized he couldn't surpass All Might, which basically destroyed Toya mentally. That's how Dabi was born. It's very heartwarming though at the end that Endeavor's family, Hawks, and Best Jeanist were there to pick him back up. He really was broken at that point.
