when this episode first air it had me in tears the closure I got from it for ino and Shikamaru

Yeah no the first time I saw this episode it caught me SO off guard and I did tear up at the end there ngl

there are so many emotional moments from here onwards but this episode legit made me sob not just seeing Shikamaru and Ino get their closure but also trying to imagine the kind of mental state Ao must have been in waking up from a years long coma, with half his body gone, and all his comrades dead - the shinobi life is harsh!

This episode was great! It kills me when I see Naruto fans who pretend Boruto shouldn’t exists when it literally pays homage to the OG series constantly and it’s characters. This episode was a perfect use of nostalgia while also teasing what’s to come

Opening is little changed now, u might not notice it at first coz its kinda subtle but some scenes/faces that were shadowed before are visable now

Such a wholesome episode. episodes with naruto flashbacks in them just feel like a crossover because they are both so different in a way. I can still remember from that episode when Shikamaru's dad asked shikamaru to "throw away the wooden box" AKA delete his search history before telling his mom that he loved her 😭

I've seen so many comments other places saying that this takes place on Naruto's birthday. Which in a way the war kinda did end on his birthday. But I would imagine that they memorialize it a few days later since they hadn't been released from the genjutsu until after Naruto and Sasuke had their fight at the valley. But if I'm wrong and the memorial takes place on Naruto's birthday, I hope he sets aside a different day to celebrate with his family.
