Boruto as a show is ruthless with killing off these side characters to arcs. As soon as you like them or feel like they're redeemed, they just kick the bucket.

I think he should just watch it. It’s not like a random internet spoiler, the people who made the show intended you to see the OP at that point. It’ll build hype for the next arc and in my opinion, it’s the second best OP with number 1 being number 8.
