i love the dichotomy between Mustang's battles between Lust & Envy. His battle with Lust was started by a sense of duty to keep his country safe. Then developed into a sense of justice in order to protect Al and (mostly) Hawkeye. However, with Envy, it was all about vengeance and revenge. He was willing to do anything to get to Envy, even searing off Ed's arm. It's the low point of, imo, the best man in the show. Someone who knows right from wrong because of the wrongs he's committed in his life. And it shows the balance of these characters. Even the best of them have wicked desires. 11/10 character development

Ironic Homunculi deaths: 1. Lust-Killed by a womanizer 2. Gluttony-Eaten by Pride 3. Envy-Dies realizing they're jealous Also, envy is often referred to as "a little green monster" in the world of literature which explains why his true form looks the way it does.

Most reactors are cheering on Mustang's deliberate torture of Envy, completely missing the development that the entire situation has for Mustang's character. It's refreshing to see a reactor realize how detrimental it would be for his character had he completely given into his hate.

definitely one of my favorite scenes in FMA, Envy's death scene. the music and realization of envy and mustang. Envy realizing he has been fighting because of jealousy and musting seeing how far he almost fell and betrayed his own morals, just for revenge.

That mustang is still willing to go through with it if it means he'll lose himself, but stands down because hawkeye threatens suicide.... the onion cutting is real.

If I could feel pity for any homunculus it would be Envy, I couldn’t imagine living in a constant state of jealousy like that. Also the framing of Father being inside the flask in the scene during the credits is so well done.

I also find it very interesting that at the end Envy did call Ed by his actual name instead of pipsqueak
