Naruto still kept his promise. So many people say he didn't but his Kage Bunshin are literally him. Still the scene is super sad and I understan Boruto's frustration

Man, the reactions to Naruto’s Shadow Clone disappearing never fails 😭😭😭 Also, they essentially said that Toneri gave Boruto the eye ability and that’s he’s been watching him, Hinata and the rest of the earth as a type of guardian.

Boruto is 12 btw after his birthday, and there was a scene where Naruto says "it's been 15 years since the war" and also on EP 2, Iwabe says "it's been 10 years since the war" so u can tell how much time has passed since he joined the academy 😗 little details am I right.

Polygon

Yeah, but there's a difference between putting the time aside to go to your own damn son's birthday in person as opposed to sending a copy of yourself just so you can do something else lol

That cake scene hit a lot of people when it was in the Boruto movie. That was pretty much the first time we actually got to see Naruto be a dad and it ended with complete disappointment. Its a tough situation for Naruto but damn why did it have to be Hima's birthday where he messes up?

There haven't been any major timeskips since Boruto started. In episode 24 (still in the early academy days), it was stated that it's been 15 years since the War. But just a few episodes ago it was stated that it's only been 10 years. Which means characters are just generalizing when they throw out numbers like that.

Yeap, Naruto is a terrible dad

Bzibzi Kappa

Omg when you said that you were glad naruto was here i couldn't wait to see your reaction, poor Himawari!! This scene also explain Boruto's mindset for the rest of the arc :(

I've watched this episode a million times but every time that cake hits the ground I die a little inside

Littletom52

Man it still hard to watch everytime Naruto disappears I know it’s coming now and it still hurts

They did a good job foreshadowing Naruto using a clone for Himawari's birthday, when they showed the clone doing as something as important as a TV interview. Also, poor Himawari. Boruto got so mad about it he literally centered himself in the process. I get that he's a kid, but he's a spoiled kid. I feel like he could have set a better example for Himawari and stayed to comfort her.

My Man Sasuke is the Illest Ninja, so makes sense Boruto Respects em Highly 😅

EpicGamerZ

The arc of greatness. Also wanna give Hima a big hug right now.

There's a point early on in the episode where Moegi looked like she was done with everything. It made me laugh for some reason.

Naruto is a really good Hokage. He asked in this episode "was I rude to him?". I don't think any of the previous Hokage except for Hashirama would have asked that question to their subordinates.

Himawari is more understanding although she is younger which is adorable. Also, Hinata has the best point that at least Boruto has a father there and not alone like Naruto was for many years.

Himawari is a perfect angel. Also her name means sunflower which is just perfect for her. It’s conflicting because I can understand everyone’s perspective. I just hope Naruto and Boruto can find a way to understand/connect with each other. As Shikamaru is my favorite character, it makes me happy to see him be a good dad and try to help his friends be better dads.
