Not gonna lie I'm getting really invested in the Elric brothers story -- these episodes contain so much in just 20 minutes! I suppose I'm just used to the slower pace in Naruto by now xD Enjoy!

Hey, Jack, a little bit of trivia: one of the reasons why you feel this is going fast is because there was an earlier incarnation of Fullmetal Alchemist back in 2003 where the episodes that you are seeing at the moment, in the beginning, were more in depth and covered more episodes than this. For example this episode with Cornellio and Rose spanned 10 episodes in the 2003 version. So when the 2003 version and this version stop sharing storylines and diverge, THAT'S when the pace will slow down some.

The exact mechanics for how Al sees and hears are kinda wonky but you're correct that he doesn't eat or sleep. They'll explain more about how his soul bond works in future episodes.

The story Ed was referring to is the ancient Greek tale of Icarus and Daedalus. I don't remember it too well but the father and son get wrongly imprisoned in some tall tower with only one window. I believe the father was an inventor and he devised a plan to escape. He would collect the feathers of the birds that would land on the window and eventually when he had enough he glued them all together with candle wax. He created a set of wings for both he and his son to fly away. The plan was working well, but his son, being a child, was having to too much fun. His father told him too not fly too high or else the heat from the sun will melt the wax. Icarus did not pay attention and that's exactly what happened. Icarus fell to his death.

Great reaction, in the future you should consider letting the ed song play out, there are some episodes where the scene right before it ends is complemented by the ending. Not right now, i'm specifically talking about the second ending song.

You and Jack are in for a ride. This show is something else. Still holds my spot for #1 anime. It's just so perfectly well done in all aspects. Plus it really doesn't have any filler, (aside from episode 1.) It's all straightforward well-paced anime greatness.

I’m watching this for the first time with you and this gives me some serious SDS vibes especially w Lust and Gluttony being involved now. I feel like that girl is prob gonna be a whole Elizabeth and Meliodas thing

All of the music in this show is worth the watch every time! Also, make sure you do lots of predicting and speculation, because this story is impossible to piece together on your own, and no matter what you'll simply be amazed.
