The scene with Fujitora yelling back at Akainu is so damn good, Fujitora's quotes are fantastic. Akainu: "Your selfish action dishonored the face of justice!" Fujitora: "If you don't want it to be dishonored, keep it close to you all the time! If we lose credibility just by admitting fault, we didn't have any in the first place!". I imagine Akainu and Aokiji had a similar argument about the nature of justice before their huge battle. Akainu would probably like nothing more than to punish Fujitora far more severely by stripping him of his rank, firing him, or even having him killed (good luck with that one, you'd need an admiral to take in or defeat another admiral if he decided to resist), but he quite literally cannot afford to do any of that and both he and Fujitora know that. The Marines have just lost a huge powerhouse, Aokiji. If they lost Fujitora too they would be in big trouble on the world stage, they need the power of the admirals to compete with the Emperors. Also, punishing Fujitora too severely in a way for the whole world to see would only make the Marines look worse to the public at this point because the truth has already been exposed and the public would obviously support Fujitora for this.
