Hello, hello! Oh boy! Dev blog 50 already?! My oh my, that’s a lot of dev blogs!
Banshee worked on a lot of characters this week. She made the concept for Eleanor’s newest outfit, an armor fit for a warrior of her caliber. She also redesigned and worked on the sprite for Sigrid, a Seraphin that will be the next character to be introduced to the game. You can expect to see both arts really soon! Oh, and she has also worked on finishing the interface for our new codex!
Vane worked on many things, chiefly among them was the build for Android 11. The newest Android version has made a couple of changes to how files are handled and the game does not have permission to work with the save files anymore. Vane is working on figuring out a way of fixing that but the new android version is so new that Unity has not caught up to it yet, so he is pretty much firing in the dark and hoping to hit something, but he hasn’t yet. This fix might not be the most critical as the vast majority of Android users are not on android 11, but as time goes on this will be a more and more pressing issue since more people will upgrade, so Vane is focusing on fixing it as soon as possible.
Vane has also implemented the new codex, a much-requested feature. The codex is essentially a database of lore. It’s going to be very bare-bones on the next release, but Vane will be working on adding more information to the codex every day and it should have almost everything in a few months.
Finally the writing. Vane was not able to write as much as he wanted this week as the codex and the android fix took most of his time, but, nonetheless, he finished Sylvara’s introduction scene and began working on a scene where Catherine meets the Emperor for the first time. Vane has finished all the implementations he had for the next release and he will put off the android fix for now so he can use this week to write like a madman and make up for his slow writing week.
