This storyline makes me feel like most people are more afraid of emotional pain (loss of a loved one, for example) than they are afraid of physical pain. It's like humans can bear some physical pain but emotional suffering scare them much more...

Clarke knew the secret her dad was floated to keep and they were scared that she would tell everyone because she was threatening to do it, so they put her in prison. They also couldn't let her assist Pike's lesson because she could tell the secret. She was passed out when everyone got in the dropship because of this same reason. For Wells, he did something (we don't know what) to get arrested because he wanted to go on the ground with Clarke 😉
