Legacies starts two years after the end of TO. Hope is 17 and the twins are 15, almost 16. The Salvatore house is different from the one in TVD as the original one got demolished.

Lizzie's line ''Do you think I'm broken?'' is the same question Hope asked Klaus in season 5. Maybe the writers really like it and reuse it, but it's a bit jarring when these kids are saying it. I know what they are trying to portray, but broken suggests it's over and they can never be helped. It's a bit much for 15 year old kids who have just started their life to believe.

Mmm things are more heightened for kids nowadays with social media and kids not being able to handle things emotionally the way previous generations might have. So that on top of the fact that these kids live in a supernatural world I can see a kid believing there’s no hope for them.
