Yeah, the ending is so underwhelming-- barely any interaction with the Voord! It's funny really, as these guys were meant to be the next 'big bad' after the Daleks. That didn't work out well.. but who knows, maybe we'll get a Voord sequel in the next modern series..?! I do enjoy how the Doctor is still a dick, but has lots of these moments where he cackles like a goblin.. it reminds me a lot of Yoda from Empire Strikes Back, which can be quite endearing (and hilariously off-tone of the story) Thanks for finishing this story! The long, long parts certainly do add up with slow pacing, but thankfully in a few Doctors that eases to much shorter stories (4 parts maximum, in most cases)...

This story was mostly entertaining but yeah the conclusion was definitely rushed. The cut from them escaping the pyramid and then jumping back to them being in the Tardis was a bit jarring. Perhaps if they had introduced the court scenario a bit sooner then it might have allowed time for a less anti-climatic resolution and perhaps make the story feel a bit less bloated too as you could tell they had to really speed through the trial scenario since it was introduced for the fifth part. The Snows of Terrors episode was probably the weakest part of them all for me and could have benefited with being shortened. But it was entertaining to see Barbara and Ian being the most proactive of the group of these episodes. Barbara definitely stood out the most as she contributed greatly in helping prevent Ian from being falsely accused and killed as well as rescuing Susan. Ian also shone in helping everyone progress through the trials they faced in a majority of these parts and the trick he pulled at the last part when he gave the Voord a fake key was a nice tactic that he learnt from Sabetha. Susan was unfortunately reduced to mostly crying which was a shame as they could have had her play detective with Barbara during the trial scenes. It seemed like that they were going in that direction until she went offscreen and got kidnapped. She didn't really get to do much here. Sabetha and Altos were okay characters but they could have been utilised a bit more. Eventually they did when both of them stopped Kala alongside Barbara. Although it was nice that Barbara, Ian and Susan were attached to them, especially Barbara when she watched them leave. It was interesting to have The Doctor absent with the middle episodes which allowed Ian and Barbara to shine more. And they seem to make up with it by having The Doctor hugely involved in the trial scene case to save Ian's life. The reconstruction scene he did with Barbara and Susan was quite entertaining. Looking forward to your reaction to the next episode. It's one of my favourites.
