I too was a little tired to see Homelander made it out alive again-- but I think that final scene cements an interesting path for him in, what I *believe* to be the final season next..? He's completely off the rails, he's taken over Vought, he's taken his 'son' and now he's realised he can murder people and be applauded for it. I'm really intrigued to see where the hell we're gonna go with him next, in what I feel has gotta be the final stage in his big ol' arc. It's a shame Soldier Boy ends up being another beat-em-up villain at the end, but I think he's served a good part in Homelander's story too-- with him being someone who Homelander not only looked up to as a superhero, but briefly as a father- and both of those idolizations were crushed by SB calling him a disappointment. Also, props to them for not fully burying a gay! (I think Maeve is bi, but Vought like to label her as a 'lesbian') -- hopefully she can live a peaceful life now.. Great reaction, as ever!
