do you think you could react to Hamilton on Disney+? If you haven't heard of it, its an award winning musical about the life of the founding father Alexander Hamilton, its a huge recommend if you haven't seen it already.

Will you react to more? ❤️

I’ve avoided watching Hamilton for awhile. It’s still hard for me to not see it as whitewashing. It’d be different if it were fictional characters in a fictional world like Bridgerton but these are poc playing slave owning founding fathers while dancing and singing and that bugs me😬

Oh wow! This was a nice surprise. I'm so glad you're finally reacting to The Sarah Jane Adventures! I was wondering whether you'd do this in the future. :D I'm so happy to see you doing another Doctor Who spin off. This show was my childhood man! I love SJA so much, so it's always fun to relive it through the eyes of people who are new to the show or even The Doctor Who universe. Glad to see you're liking the cast already. The show does get better as it goes on but as a pilot episode, I find this to be a really fun introduction to Sarah Jane and her life. I do like how they immediately re-establish her character through the perspective of people in the neighbourhood like Kelsey informing Maria about her which immediately draws Maria to become even more invested in her. Just like Rose seeing The Doctor in the first episode of New Who and Gwen seeing Jack's POV in the first episode of Torchwood, we get to see Sarah Jane's world from Maria's perspective which is so fascinating to me because we're learning new information alongside them as an audience so it's nice to see that thread continue here. Maria is great. I also like the Bubbleshock plot and the whole scenario of a pop drink having strong influence on people with the TV advertisement and bus marketing. Miss Wormwood is a good villain and a good evil equivalent to Sarah Jane. Her speech about the western world being obsessed with food and drink is so entertaining but it's also equally chilling with the way she delivers the line so sinisterly which really paints that fact about humans in a new light with a creepy demeanour ("That's the human race, THEY DEVOUR!"). I'm so happy that you like Kelsey! It's so rare to meet a Kelsey fan! I remember lots of people finding her annoying back in the day but I absolutely loved her. She's absolutely hilarious! She had so many great one liners in this. Obviously, she's the sceptical one of the group but it works because it adds a bit of tension and conflict to the team dynamic but also grounding them a bit back to Earth whenever it gets too chaotic. I imagine that Kelsey's hyper side was slightly increased because of the drink but it's still ultimately her. We even got to learn a bit more about her inner thoughts when Miss Wormwood scanned her mind. I feel like she probably hides those doubts under her attitude and personality. It was funny how she kept crushing on Alan, Davey and even Luke. You are also spot on about Luke and Maria. Luke is essentially a new born child who has so much to experience and learn now that he's free from the Bane and has found a new home. These kids giving Sarah Jane a purpose again is really heart-warming especially given that she's been alone for years. Even after meeting The Doctor again in School Reunion, I really do like how they subtly show Sarah Jane's vulnerability when she reflects on how hard it was to go back to a normal life after her adventures with The Doctor came to an end. You can see how broken she still feels about it when she tells the kids in the attic scene.

I love the ending too. Sarah Jane officially adopting Luke and sitting alongside him and Maria is sweet. The quote that she says to Maria is also really relatable too. "When I was your age, I used to think, oh when I'm grown up, I know what I'll want, I'll be sorted. But you never really know what you want, you never feel grown up, not really, you never sort it all out" I didn't know it then but rewatching this as an adult now, god. That feeling is so relatable and real about never figuring it all out. I love that moment so much. It will be interesting to see your journey with this show. I'll quickly answer a few questions you had earlier Yes. The Bane Mother was killed in that explosion. Yes. You saw Luke before in The Doctor Who Series 4 finale (The Stolen Earth/Journey's End) and also End of Time Part 2. And yes the Alien that Sarah Jane encounters in her garden is indeed the same species as the alien from Torchwood Series 1 (Episode 7). This Arcateen was more friendly than the one that Tosh encountered in Torchwood. I've always speculated whether Sarah Jane felt the same or at least a similar feeling to what Tosh did when meeting the Arcateen alien in terms of that sensational feeling due to them being telepathic and emitting psychedelic aura with their presence. Sarah Jane also makes a small but subtle reference to Torchwood when she tells the kids about there being secret organisations dedicated to finding aliens ("But they tend to go in guns blazing"). It could even count as a reference to both UNIT and Torchwood in this case.
